Ben Lennon still keen to stay at Richmond

The club failed him as much as he apparently failed the club. I don't know what else he was expected to do in the VFL

I missed the bit where the club failed him. Can you refresh my memory?

Like they said on the media release on the website, like Ben, I’m a “resilient character”.

Where they kept delaying his surgery on his shoulder even though he couldn't lift his arm above his waist and repeatedly told him that there was nothing wrong and jabbed him with pain kills until he couldn't even feel the footy

Pretty sure he was given plenty of chances at AFL level. VFL is where he belonged.

How can the club be responsible for the players lack of professionalism?

The club could cajole, plead and even impose sanctions if necessary but the responsibility is on the player.

The only thing the club could be culpable for was the unwarranted increase when he renewed his contract as he wanted to be traded to Carlton.

He kicked how many goals in the VFL over the past two years while never really completing a pre season?

Astbury took how many years before he looked good? The same with Elton

Him kicking 3-4 goals but not putting on pressure or getting much ball in the vfl isn’t us failing him

He actually wanted to go to Collingwood

I think his work-ethic/pressure definitely improved this year, it was acknowledged as much by the club. His vfl form was pretty good if not a little inconsistent. He was just never going to fit in our forward structure as a slow, one dimensional medium forward. Not much point potting the guy now anyway.

Expect an article in the papers soon .............

Ben Lennon - I'm Ready
Ben Lennon is now ready to have a good crack at AFL after being delisted from the premiers, Lennon has been extremely unlucky and was never given a chance due to his fall out with senior coach Damien Hardwick after being dropped for the final for Reece Conca

Ben Believes he is now ready to fulfill his potential that seen him get drafted with pick 12 in the 1st round of the 2013 nab draft,Ben was an elite junior that has not had opportunity at Richmond to showcase his talents and is of “resilient character”.

Ben Lennon also adds Vibrancy and attitude "If i was asked what I offer a team and my response would be “vibrancy.”

Team most suitable - #LOLNORF
Salary requirments $400,000

Elton never looked good. How he got that 5 year deal is beyond me

Astbury was worth persisting with given his injury history

Lennon - I agree with Lids on this one. Has the talent, didn’t work hard enough. Which was a shame because I saw some good traits in him

Don't understand the Lennon support. In the last 3 years he has been passed in the pecking order by at least a third of the list. He has not shown the appetite for the contest required to make it and as a percentage of the list has to be renewed each year, was one of the obvious delisting.

He is a one dimensional player IMO. He could have been the lead up third tall high half forward, but I never really saw him dominate leads and do over oppo on work rate. Couldn’t play midfield and I wouldn’t say he has blistering speed. Wasn’t at the required level defensively - not that he was terrible there were just others in the side that could offer more.

Great kick and good goal nous. Also a victim of not fitting in with our new game style. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets picked up as a rookie or DFA

Wouldn't be surprised if another Victorian team like Collingwood pick him up. He isn't a bad player (has talent), but our style of play went one way while his strengths were at another area.

I think he'd do better at a club that plays an uncontested brand of footy that relies on accurate kicking (if there is a club playing that brand nowadays). His kicking wasn't too bad if I remember correctly.
