What these posts and the Port vs Geelong game showed, especially when comparing Q1 versus the second half, is just how much how defenders look depends on the midfield. Their pressure, ability to reduce decision time, reduce speed of opposition ball movement, and ability to flood back and fill holes.
Either create a Zach Reid thread or take it to the North or Essendon boards. I’m pretty sure Reid is contracted so we’d get fair value.

'ITK' reports of a rift between Weitering and Young and now some speculation on other threads that teams are keeping an eye on Young makes me think we'd be interested if it did come down to a decision.
Don't think you could play Weitering Young and Mckay at once so if we were keen I'd reckon it would hinge on whether Weitering wants a new partner or not.

Don't think he'd be going for much for than 5-600k if he was to come to us
RFA so North can match any price and force his price up to a level that it gets band one compo.
Opposition club that wants Ben won't want North to match and have to give up picks for him so will increase the price to reach band one compo to satisfy North.
AFL won't want to give North any more priority picks but they can massage the system to see North get another kick along.

You already got given priority picks. AFL won't be adding any secret herbs and spices to his FA compo so long as WCE are considerably worse than North
Two teams can be bad at the same time. If it's borderline it will go our way as the AFL don't have to justify it.

Mckay has tanked his value this season enough that it wont be close. Worth no more than 600k on his performances this year and injury history.
You do realise it does not work like that. A team offers x and north match its either then stay at North or a normal trade happens
I agree but restricted free agents always get overs so a trade doesn’t need to happen.

That isn't how it worked for Adelaide with Crouch, and they were rubbish at the time too. Hell, did it even get "managed" up to Band 2 or did it stay Band 3?

Williams produced better football than any player on Norths list rn at the time he signed that contract.
About 10 hamstrings, 2000 big macs and an ACL injury later, it's easy to forget that. Was a massive reason GWS made it to the 2019 Grand Final.

If he wants out and an offer of 600-750 which receives band 2/3 is received, they will accept it. They won’t hold him there with a new contract when he doesn’t want to be there just the same as JHF.
If a free agent wants out and is offered a contract, they will let him go without all this ridiculous posturing in here as we have seen from other clubs the past number of years.
He’s not worth 800+k and no none will be paying that for an injury prone player.
Otherwise if they want to be difficult and go down the path of forcing trades, he’s an out of contract injury prone player and his value will not be an early first anyway and likely end of first/second rounder which is what the compo will likely we anyway.

Doubt it. Crouch was reported on similar money and didn’t get that. Highly doubt that 750 gets band 1.
Being age 25 will give him a bump.
