Could well have a senior vacancy shortly too if what I heard is true
I have heard the same talk ROOTA#6 and my contact is generally on the money. Standby for a change at Square.

Can’t believe what I am hearing is occurring at Wade Street, the place is imploding which is very unlike them who generally deal with all matters ‘in house’.

Removing Carter was the start if all this activity.

Personally I think twilight games are perfect instead of night games at the start of the year.

It allows the other games to be played during the day, have a twilight game and then the home club can roll straight into a function after the game to tap into the influx of fans and even opposing team for the start of it.

Night games whilst it can have great attendances then misses out on the revenue that could’ve been generated from a club function.
Yes, really like to see twilight games early in the season. I think they would be well supported as would some selected Sunday games.

Permanent Twilight football might solve some structural problems of clubs with multiple U14 and U16 teams. Make it so clubs can only have a single u14 team and a single u16 team

U14 9.15am

U16 10.45am

U18 12.30pm

Reserves 2.10pm

Seniors 4.00pm

Finish 6.30pm?

Fair point.

If Bendigo league was all clubs within 15km of Bendigo it could work. Seems to be the way the league is headed

So where do the others go if only 1 team.
1 team is not enough. Bottom-age kids won't make the the A team in juniors, the next year the club doesn't have a team. This will actually make the teams with more juniors better they'll pick their best 24 and will recruit from other clubs,

I do think u16 should play before the u18 Inc castlemaine Mb .

Gisborne juniors play elsewhere so that solves that.

I think you're little out of touch with how juniors work and not all juniors have a One club policy they operate as two different clubs.

After u12 there should be a 2 team cap however they may drive kids to not play footy. You'll say they'll play at other clubs they won't and don't

ROOTA#6 would be best to comment re strath,
if they’ve lost a bit how will they go? Any reason for the loss of players ?
Have they picked up anyone?
How will the new coach go?

Eaglehawk have lost a few too
Gisborne and sandhurst look to be the two teams to contest.

Strath have lost a lot, agree with top 3. The standard of the league has fallen off a clif

Strath and square seem to have lost about 30 senior players combined. It’s got to be concerning for both clubs. Sandhurst v Eaglehawk GF, Castlemaine huge chance to make finals. No longer a premier comp in my opinion.

Strath..like square have had groups that have been together for a long long time.

Some bloke have decided that travel is taking a toll, some blokes are pursuing opportunities at a higher level an others have also decided that they are nearing the end and can’t commit to the standard anymore.

Strath will be young but still a lot of quality amongst them

Any recruits so far? Moorhead, McCarty, sharp and Webb all big losses. Storm will still be around coke finals in my opinion

Strath and square both have quality juniors, I don't expect them to drop off that much. Once you get older, the saying is the worse you play, most guys that have left are closer to the end than the start.

The juniors they both bring in, know the strath and square standards and game plan, youth brings excitement
