Excellent depth for the Bendigo league. The depth comment was made in relation to Shepp Bears having a far better bottom 10 and they clearly do.Sandhurst won all 3 grades of footy over gisborne, neither side lacks depth
Trav Baird to Trentham
38 years young
Did not see this one coming
There's some good players still in the league, I remember playing on julian field straight out take the vfl
How many years ago was that? Trentham had blokes in the seniors this year that wouldn’t get a game in at least half of the 2’s sides in Bendigo this year. There's some good players still in the league, I remember playing on julian field straight out take the vfl
Maybe 07. Pretty sure gathercole and Fitzgerald were playing then too for maybe Navarre from sandhurstHow many years ago was that? Trentham had blokes in the seniors this year that wouldn’t get a game in at least half of the 2’s sides in Bendigo this year.
Times have changed a little since then!Maybe 07. Pretty sure gathercole and Fitzgerald were playing then too for maybe Navarre from sandhurst
Also Walters at newstead. Jack sumner even coached royal Park early 90s in he's prime
Is the Uni aspect overstated? There are a number of premiership players who are at Uni but it the increased travel from those who live in or around Echuca offset by the potential for retaining 3-4 players? The gv is also on decline. It's harder for the other clubs to recruit in the gv. It may sound far fetched but I'd think most echuca and ky kids go towards bendigo geelong Melbourne for work and school. They'd drive through Bendigo way to come back.and play. Sandhurst and gisborne are both 5 goal better sides than shepp and have strong reserves and thirds. Is playing those clubs more appealing? I think if Moama move and it's a success both will follow
ex ehawk and locky jesse collins rumored to have signed with sth bendigo
Points will have to be tight at South.Just popped up on the socials now
There's 27 points there for 8 guys it doesn't fit. Who leaves ?Points will have to be tight at South.
From my understanding of the points this is roughly what the recruits points could be.
Cal Crisp - 4 Points has not played 40 or more games for South and played at three different clubs in three years
Jack Fallon - 3 Points
Alex Davis - 4 Points three different clubs in three years
James Davies - 3 Points
Josh Nitschke - 3 Points
Hayden Geddes - 3 Points
Mac Cameron -3 or 4 Points
Jesse Collins - 3 Points
Crisp will drop 2 points for 2 years of service. There's 27 points there for 8 guys it doesn't fit. Who leaves ?
From there last rd team against eaglehawk I can roughly work out they will pick up 22 points and played with 44/46There's 27 points there for 8 guys it doesn't fit. Who leaves ?
The points system working a treat, hitting a club trying to climb the ladder over the head as it starts its climb. What a diabolical system. Same teams year in year out trying to be competitive but have this rubbish to deal with.Points will have to be tight at South.

Wouldn't think so, as it is one of them is there every year. Bottom sides have no chance to rebound quickly under the current guidelines. This is clearly evident in the table provided by @Grasscat.I’d hate to see those same teams without a points or salary cap system. Storm and Sandhurst would play off in the next 5 grand finals.
Points isn’t either teams issue, both playing finals with plenty to spare.I’d hate to see those same teams without a points or salary cap system. Storm and Sandhurst would play off in the next 5 grand finals.
So why do we have the system if it has not changed things? From the table provided, they weren't rebounding strongly prior to the current systems being introduced either.
