Funny thing is, a W/N team full of locals pulled the same Boort team’s pants down in 1981. And there wouldn’t have been too many VCFL sides across the state that could’ve beaten Boort that year.
Ahhh, the glory days of the VCFL. Bring it back please!

No it is not ST, but the comments are part of a discussion about Tony Southcombe and his entire football career. He did play at Boort for two years hence the above interest in their 1982 premiership. However the vast majority of Tony's football career was at Golden Square where he played over 200 games and then where he finished with three premierships at Northern United of which Tony coached two. It is fair enough that they are on this forum.

i actually enjoy reading about all your respective comps and eras in the bush.
better than some of the personal stuff or the broadford thats becoming tiring after originally being more an amusement peace than ever being factual surely.

There’s footballs getting around with more brains than are evident at HQ.
Had a chat with someone this morning who felt the hub cops a hard deal from most supporters and can’t win no matter what they do.
I’m always open to challenge an opinion so we objectively tried to list all the positive influences they have had on footy in the region.
After a long discussion we came up with videoing the games and the stats packages but then we disqualified that because it’s just the clubs paying for a service, and the introduction of a women’s league but again we had to balance that with how much of a mess they have made of it.
I’d love to hear what other posters can come up with.
