I see eaglehawk are battling to field a side in under 18s ? Is this a result of kids being pushed to Sandhurst / strath via schools and the fact 16 sandhurst made pioneers ? It’s only the beginning of the hurt unfortunately and it will take decades to fix

Here we go

What's happening? Eaglehawk has always had strong juniors? Are families now moving to maiden gully or a marong as a cheaper housing option ? The bfl needs to have a plan in place otherwise we'll have a 4 team league

I also just had a look at kangaroo flat, from their 2019 under 18 win over sandhurst and a pretty comfortable win too I might add, only 2 players are still on their list. Sandhurst have 10.

Flat need a minimum 6 of those guys back playing at flat in 2 years, they are coming into their footy prime. I think that's why jugga is back to try get these guys back at the club, as their under 18 coach of the time. It will be hard to get the 2 boys back from rochy now they've experienced a winning culture, get rovers back from mounts should be high on their recruiting list and have a 2 year recruiting plan in place. Aim to get 5 of the best kids in under 25 from the hdfl, lvfl, mcdfl and North central as well. Have a coaching succession plan in place, coaching is a hard gig, go out and get a playing assistant to take over after 2 years to help take pressure off downie. And last of all I'd aim left field and try by season 26, to have 4 young guys out of the sanfl, like young guys that have won the reserves best and fairest. Those guys are playing for $100 in the reserves and there's no where near the amount of money in south Australia metro or country footy compared to Victoria. These guys would be far cheaper than trying to get guys from the vfl or Melbourne metro and Adelaide's like a big bendigo, so they'd settle in quick if you aim for country SA kids too

Eaghlehawk still have great juniors with 11 teams competing last year and 13 the 2 previous seasons. That is up there with S/Saye with 14 teams, MGYCW 14 teams and Square with 13. They have just hit a bump in the road in the Under 16/18 bracket the the moment but have a good funnel with numbers coming through.

BFNL agm on shortly. It’s interesting timing for an agm when all eyes elsewhere. Or is that by design? Any key board moves pending, new nominations put forward? Or are the change merchants down the beach and couldn’t give a fig.

100% by design.

Stand by for it to be reported on in the Addy and get an earnest response from
HQ.

Nothing happens in this league unless it happens to Bendigo.

Eaglehawk didnt have an Under 16 team in the BJFL last year so some of the players that wanted to play went to other Bendigo and surrounding league clubs. This will make it bloody hard for the Borough to get a team up for 2025. Here is hoping they can get one up.
They had some off field issues with some kids and families I heard they politely asked some kids to play elsewhere. They’ll be fine still had solid numbers in every other age group

So have you decided which cupboard to put the 2025 premiership cup in Forest or still making up your mind?

Not sure we will win the flag this year Albury but I’m confident we will feature in the finals and hopefully the last one.

For a club that has been left to die by either the intent or incompetence of many administrators and board members, we will take that and I hope a few of them choke on it.

Please. For a club that has been left to die. No responsibility on the club itself? Crikey its never Castlemaines fault. Always the victim.

We’ve been over and over this but I’ll say it again.

No one has ever claimed anything of the sort and no one ever will. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

We will smash them all up there on GF day - I’ll be the one in the maggy suit
