Probably bothers us less than anyone, we have two local rags that print plenty of footy club news.
Must make life hard for the lower profile Bendigo clubs though, hard to attract interest if no one ever hears about you.

Just curious, has anyone from the country clubs nominated for the league board in recent years? Has anyone tangibly tried to address these alleged biases, other than whinging about it on bigfooty? I would hazard a guess that the board would love some diversity with country club input.
Forest mentioned a couple of weeks back he considered nominating for the new council, but heard it was a boat race so quite rightly didn’t bother.
Bendigo board pretty similar - I don’t reckon they’d want anyone in to ask the hard questions and challenge the status quo.
I’d say you’re on the money
A team a week, possibly two a week.
Pretty sure I saw something about K-Flat’s off-season recently.

There have been people on the board over the years, but the critical mass drives decisions.
Everything you need to know about the board and hub operations is that when the commission made a desperate attempt to instigate a conversation about real change they intentionally froze them both out.

I'd think like any local board and local government they vote in factions. Also afl vic drive their agendas. Broadford was pushed from well above the bfl board and new council. The thing is they would be sold that if they vote broadford in, they will get more grants for clubs, community camps in their region (which is now a day trip) possible match simulation afl game (afls wording for practice game) etc so the board and council are left with little choice but to vote broadford in. So they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
The afl are doing their best to kill off grass roots senior comps and they need to break away from the afl umbrella

Everyone only has so much time and energy to offer, personally I’d rather invest it into helping at club level, where it can actually make a difference.
Let me ask you this, why would the commission freeze out the board?

You tell us what their links to Carol and Sandhust are mate. If you google the bfnl board it appears they come from various backgrounds and apart from Carol only one appears to have links to Sandhurst. Yet again if clubs arent happy with the way the league is run, get rid of the current board. It's essentially "I've done nothing & I'm all out of ideas", repackaged to justify their ongoing bleating.
If you aren't going to roll up your sleeves & give it a crack, sitting back and sniping those that do, isnt great.
Sam Mcgee Captained Sandhurst and Andy Walker has had a long association with them also. Not that I think it has any relevance whatsoever. Sandhurst are not that succesfull if you compare them to the premierships Square, Gisborne and Strathfieldsaye have won in recent times. If anything, following this theory of bias, they need to be more bias so Sandhurst can string multiple flags together.

You really have no idea about me or what I have or haven’t done. The fact I was perfectly correct about how the council would operate should at least give you pause for thought.
Yeah, I’m sure the players lose countless hours of sleep over the politics of the game.
I reckon you’d be a cut out of these handballs and bring back the VFL type.
I’ve lost count of the tally now, must be into double figures.
