With Ellard likely to go and Eddie and Jeff gone, we've lost our entire KPF stocks in one ****ing year. What's Nowhere Nahas up to these days?

Just an observation from a few of the best 22s - Whiley isn't a pure tagger. He is a ball winning mid in his own right who was forced to be a tagger due to GWS having Ward, Shiel, Treloar etc. He won't be depth for Curnow or Carrots IMO.

From his highlights package, he's awesome at the stoppages.

He and Cripps will force Judd to play more an outside role. Brownlow Nº 3, here we come.

Liam is a small forward. Wasn't his fault he had a growth spurt at 16.

Not sure until I see some preseason stuff, I think some of our youngsters might have some VFL time lined up but will play a good few games.

Will get plenty of games:
Graham, Jaksch, Cripps, Whiley, Bell, Watson & Tutt if we select him is a good chance.

I think Watson and Jones will be competing for a spot a bit. If both happen to push really hard then perhaps Henderson may go back. It wouldn't surprise me if Jones ends up being a backman all the same, just looks like one. Jaksch will play some games back and forward and possibly get thrown on a wing at times, matchup wont always suit to have him in ahead of White or an injured tall defender. White is a very underrated player, plays on key forwards (Walker), midfielders (Goddard) and resting ruckmen and does a good job and goes about the game in the right way, Jaksch will not push him out easily. Cripps will play a few games but don't expect too much just yet, he could take a bit of time, will dominate the VFL and push hard though if he plays reserves, Bell will play some games as he's been going ok, Casboult probably has his spot sown up as he also rucks, Whiley will play a fair bit and may push Carrazzo out, like what glimpses I've seen of him but I think he's got things to work on, Tutt if we get him may fill a hole as a small forward.

Buckley will be that specialist small defender who can cover the really good small forwards that we've be crying out for, should release Tuohy onto other players. Sheehan I think has to play with his skills, athleticism and he didn't get beaten last year, looks ready to go, his age suggests he is. I get the feeling Rowe will want to play well this season as Henderson moving back is a real option now. Yarran, Simpson and Walker may spend less time back and more time in the midfield/forward. Curnow is our number one tagger so far. Named a lot of capable midfielders forward, midfield depth looks about right. Docherty to spend more time through there, he can play at either end to. Everitt I think well play everywhere but a fair bit on the ball, just keep finding matchups for him. It's a decent team, big questions remain over the forwardline.

We'll easily use 30 players next season I feel, pressure will be on players who drop in form or fitness, some of those youngsters not named will tear up the VFL and there are always injuries, it's just part of the game. Feel fairly confident that our depth will now run pretty well to 30 which is where it should be and the depth players aren't older guys like "the good old days", they are young players developing their mind and body who are ready to play AFL but not at their best.

Docherty, Menzel & Graham been good but Buckley not convinced on, I know his young but not a fan of his kicking and decision making, butchers the ball to much. Docherty love his run and carry and decision making, Graham love his tackling and hussell but Buckley needs to work on a lot of areas of his game

Graham has most upside, genuine footballer tackling and hardness. Docherty one of my favourite simply because loves to run and create. Menzel will improve ud think. Buckley just saying needs to work on a lot of areas, if he could kick like Doc and read the play as good as Doc then would be one of my favourites too. I see him like an Armfield more of an athlete than footballer at times

Only knock on Menzel is his ability to get the ball, he goes quiet in big patches of a game but beautiful kick of the ball, love seeing him line up kicking for goal

I actually thought Buckley had really good disposal. Somes up his options pretty well. Especially considering he's played a handful of games.

Nothing wrong with his disposal IMO. It's not 100% but well ahead of lots of others. I'd say equal to or maybe slightly better than Graham.

Graham is pretty polished though... Let's just accept it... we've got the best crop of youth coming up through the AFL..

Just soo many of Blues players have certain qualitys about them which impress fans but lack the basics and fundamentals

Tom Bell is just a big body in my eyes with good run but his kicking is average
Robbo another big body but hacks the football
Armfield a speedy coyote but bad kick and goes missing
Buckley has nice pace but gets caught in the moment to often which affects accuracy so that's why refer to him as an athlete. Just my opinion

We didn't get any boys in the under 23 all australian team though, hope next year get at least 2

Don't think Lester made it but look agree to be honest with you i actually got really annoyed seeing Buckley and Graham dropped over guys like McLean & Carrazzo

Buckley needs more senior game time and seeing Mick rotating him between seniors and reserves along with Graham was terrible coaching decision for me, just gives them less confidence and tampers with their development
