Buckley looked more than capable this year. Intensity and speed was there and his disposal was good enough.

I'm looking forward to having Bucks, Doc and Whiley in the team next year... and then Jack and Jake in there as well in 2016.I'm looking forward to having Bucks, Doc, Menz and Graham in the same team
Personally, I think that Judd is going to relish having Whiley and Cripps running around out there extracting the ball for him and Smurph on the outside. Judd and Smurph are just going to be accumulators of possessions next year. From his highlights package, he's awesome at the stoppages.
He and Cripps will force Judd to play more an outside role. Brownlow Nº 3, here we come.
Agreed. I'll post mine after the drafts have been completed.Too early. List isn't settled yet.
Just a ripper effort for a first post. Think you may have missed the boat on Robbo. Was wondering if all the Irish lads head home for a period during the break. Perhaps for Xmas. Great effort.FB: Simpson (30, 222, 182cm) Jamison (28, 131, 193cm) Jaksch (20, 7, 195cm)

On paper, this is a competitive and well-balanced football side. Three decent talls at each end is particularly good to see.
It is interesting to note the ages of this starting 22; most players are in their peak bracket (23-28).
On a personal note, I now hope that we keep Robbo. I reckon he will be back in 2015 more focused and determined to prove a lot of people wrong. This honestly excites me! I would also have no hesitation in starting Ellard IF he puts together a full and healthy preseason. I would love to see the little champ swooping beneath Hendo, Casboult and Jones all year. Kruezer and Thomas are also going to be like new recruits in 2015. And looking at the line-up of emergencies and depth payers, competition for spots is going to be really hot! You can see clear understudies in almost all positions, which is fantastic for the team and building a strong culture. I still think, however, we're lacking some class in the midfield and some young, exciting talent.
Overall, they say a team is only as good as their Bottom 6, and I reckon our's has come a looong way in the last two years. (Going off the above, probably: Jones, Jaksch, Ellard, Casboult, Curnow, Bell). It is also fantastic to see players wanting to come to Visy Park once more!
Any comments? The glass of optimism is slowly filling up, yet I'm still sadly tipping a 7-11th finish in 2015 (but a better 2016)
Cheers,
Bluey
You're right, but he is also competing against Bell, Cripps and Graham for positions in the team. He is no monty to be in our best 22.Just an observation from a few of the best 22s - Whiley isn't a pure tagger. He is a ball winning mid in his own right who was forced to be a tagger due to GWS having Ward, Shiel, Treloar etc. He won't be depth for Curnow or Carrots IMO.
We're talking about a player who managed 2 games this year. So obviously no one is expecting him to come in and dominate immediately. You're right, but he is also competing against Bell, Cripps and Graham for positions in the team. He is no monty to be in our best 22.
