For Freo Haselby stands out. 30+ possessions and the rising star nomination for r1 (which he ended up winning of course).

Dean Polo's debut was allright. 28 Possies and 3 goals i think.

Rioli had 11 touches and kicked 1 goal on debut. He actually had 19 touches as his best performance in his debut season (1999).

Martin McGrath was a one hit wonder. Kicked 5 goals on debut in 2003 and only played three more games.

Ben Johnson had 18 touches in his first game as well as kicking 3 goals on an afternoon where it hit 38 degrees. That same game, Damien Adkins kicked a goal with his first kick in league footy, and ended up with 22 touches and 2 goals.

In 1999, Kent Kingsley bagged 6 goals on debut for the Kangaroos, having 12 kicks and 7 marks. Playing in a premiership forward line consisting of Carey, McKernan and Sholl. Close to the modern day best, with Scott Cummings kicking 8 on debut for the Bombers and having 8 marks, against Sydney.

My winner, as I watched this game was another Rnd 1 clash in 2000. Paul Hasleby had 16 kicks, 14 handballs and kicked a goal against the Catters at Subi.

Going way back to 1989 a forward named John Georgiadis played his 1st game for the dogs and on a HF flank kicked 9 at Princes Park against the Blues.
I think he played the next week and kicked 6 or 7 against the Kangas before drifting off and not doing much more ever.

What about Adrian Mcadam?? was selected at 98 in the '92 draft and then kicked seven goals on debut against Richmond. In the next game, he took 14 marks and kicked 10.6 against Sydney. In his third match, against Footscray, he kicked six.

Walker, Polo and Daniel Metropolis who i think kicked 6 on debut

and yeh, mcadam looked like he was going to rip the league apart. Ii think he had 41 goals after the first 6 games.

Kade Simpson

Simpson's come a loooong way since then (unlike the player who was taken at number 2 in the same draft - if anything he's gotten worse;) )

And Walker's game on debut was brilliant, back in round 6 of 2004 against the Weagles. Off the top of my head, I think he had 26 possessions that game.

Holy **** you're right, I never knew this.
