FWIW, I agree that what he did was disgraceful and I certainly feel for his victim. He was a real scumbag, I hope he's learned from it. But given charges were brought and heard, then the outcome should be respected. Our legal system is far from perfect, but the treatment of young offenders is necessarily circumspect to allow an appropriate level of punishment whilst not making it define their adult lives (before they are even adults). I get that you feel the punishment was insufficient, and perhaps it was, but that's the way the law is applied in given circumstances. There's nothing to be gained from coming here saying he hasn't been punished enough, so for justice to be served, we should all join you in a virtual lynching.

The player the original poster is referring to is 18 years old, nearly 19. The incident supposedly happened 3 years ago therefore he was 16. In an earlier post it stated that the girl was 15 or almost 15 at the time. Plenty of shenanigans happen between boys and girls of that age. If it was a police matter it would have been dealt with by now.
The op has stated the he knows the girls family and obviously has an axe to grind. Most people have done something in their youth that they are not proud of but don't have their future career wrecked because of it.

I agree, but I think a lot of these cases they protect the ID of the perp only because it helps protect the victims identity.
