Best Games For Wii

Well I hate all my current games. I'm looking for some new ones to get that I'd actually play every so often. I'm basically into sport a lot (play PES the most on my PS2) but some other decent stuff wouldn't hurt.

Anyone got any recommendations. I believe there is a cricket game coming out soon so I'd be getting that for sure.

Hey dude, yeah wii don't really have heaps of solid games at the moment. I just got Mario Kart which I rate pretty highly, good fun if your into those kind of games, I had Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles but I thought it was a pathetic shooting game, just found it overly repetitive. I got dragonball z budokai 3 which I do like, even if your not a fan of the whole series, but it probably is one of those games that you have to have some knowledge about the series but dont have to be a die hard fan. I also took a risk and got this game Zack and Wiki. I have only played it for an hour but I think its pretty fun and its worth a go. Super Mario Galaxy is alright, I don't see why it gets such rave reviews but gotta get into it more. Check www.metacritic.com to see reviews of games, some scores from the big websites/magazines which are then all given a score out of 100 and then averaged between them all. There are also user reviews if your interested in seeing gamers 2c worth on the games. Hope this helps.

Super Mario Galaxy, Sonic & Mario at the Olympic games are great games.

Mario Kart, Zelda are also highly rated games.

I'm not sure if it's out yet, but if you like PES, then you should get PES 08 on the Wii. Apparently the controls are amazing, and I think there is online play.

Definitely get Mario Kart, fantastic game.

This is not true for all people. I grabbed a madden game 5 years ago without knowing anything about it and I loved it. I learned every rule I know about the sport from Madden.

Madden games are always good.

Mario Galaxy is brilliant.

Mario Kart Wii is very good. One of my favorite games ever.

Zelda: Twilight Princess is excellent and right up there with Mario Galaxy IMO.

Metroid Prime 3 is a great unique shooter.

Apparently Resident Evil 4 is good, don't be deterred by what the poster before me said, I don't really like the resident evil series myself but give it a go and see what you think as they are highly rated.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to be excellent. As far as other fighting games go Dragon Ball Z Budoakia whatchamightcallit 2 and 3 are good and underrated. I'm not a huge DBZ fan but it's a pretty good fighting game.

Zack and Wiki is apparently the best game on the wii that noone plays. I haven't had a go of it, but if you like fun platformers/adventure games apparently it's quality. That's if you can get over cartoony visuals.

It's my birthday in about a weeks time and will be 100% getting a Wii, though I'm just wondering where the cheapest prices are in Melbourne..?

When I get the Wii, my first few games I get will be Mario Kart Racing & Super Mario Galaxy, as both games have been saluted with outstanding reviews...Madden might be also a good one to get, I don't know the rules, but I like a challenge, working my way through games rather than succedding straight away which is boring & short-term fun...

For the cheapest prices, buying games online from UK sites is pretty cheap. Managed to get PES 2008 for $73 (34 pounds) from game.co.uk including postage. They should all work as the UK use PAL as well.

Thanks for the tips, I might look into Madden. Maybe it could be worth renting it out first.

I just put on lay-buy a Wii bundle which comes with Wii Sports, the Mario Galaxy game & an extra remote which has the mini games with it...Will be getting Mario Kart when it is widely available, I'm in no rush to get it quickly, will have to get used of the remote and the like first before I start buying multiple games...

Aside from Mario Galaxy and EO, I only really buy multiplayer games, its much more fun.

Pro Evo is supposed to be sensational once you get used to the controls, never has a soccer game given you so much control over your players....

Thats amazingly generous imo for what is essentially a glorified tech demo....... (unless you're taking into account that the majority of ppl buy it for the controller)

Even more amazing...... my 55 yr old dad really had alot of fun with this game.......

He couldn't really get into Wii sports ......but moving the Mii figure sideways to sideways to "fit the hole" kept him occupied for hours.

I think it was very astute decision by the Nintendo Marketing division. Stick what was probably an E3 demo with a controller for about 5 or 10 dollars more (which is obviously madly in demand) and watch as it stays in the top 10 software charts for eternity. I've lost count of the number of news articles which cite Wiiplay's chart position.
