I decided to be biased by voting for 2003. Loved the virtuosity showed by the boys in that GF, not mention that some players played injured. Black and Aker had the matches of their lives.

2007 was too one-sided but the Cats did put on a great display, 2008 was very good and I liked this year's GF although I would have liked a Saints' win.

The Sydney v West Coast ones were close but very dour. Although I hate Sydney as a city (which Melburnian doesn't), I wanted that flag drought to break and it was great to see Roosy play a part in a flag albeit as a coach.

i found the brand of footy in the 05/06 grand finals to be too defensive, and i also think that the two teams were two of the weaker premiers this decade. i voted 09 because it was the true clash of the titans, and the ferociousness, intensity and commitment in the game were unreal. the game was close the whole time, and either team deserved to win. both teams were a credit to themselves and the game. geelong were humble and st. kilda were gracious.

Interesting, in that Sydney and West Coast made consecutive grand finals against each other, yet are regarded as "two of the weaker premiers this decade." Each were within a goal of going back-to-back.

The thing about West Coast is they were close to flag favourites for quite a few years, and were rated a really good team. They definitely didn't have a weak team - Cox, Cousins, Judd, Kerr is still one of the best midfields of the modern era.

I think many people sometimes confuse a close game with a good game.

I really got nothing out of the 05/06 GF's until about the last 5min and while the attack at the footy in 09 made it more watchable I still didnt find much appeal in the game for most of the day.

My own personal preference but I prefer a more open game - biased HH says 2008 but 2003 was definitely up there given the significance of a 3-peat.

I don't know why 2009 is getting a lot of votes, I only recall one great moment about 4 minutes into the final quater but overall, St.Kilda were playing rubbish football, especially in the final quater where they never bothered to find a target and just bombed it forward. After re-watching the 06 Grand Final, it easily won my vote, the entire thing was so damn close and the pressure was extreme all the way through.

Weaker side, best midfeild.

2009 4 sure
2006 was drug tainted & i don't recognise it. the eGirls r only the 2nd best AFL team in the state for crying out loud (yes crying ..... understandable really)
2009 was a huuuuuuuuuuuuge game. Suspenseful & exciting, filled with acts of courage. I like Max Rooke as a player lots & i reckon he was one of the best.
2005, leaping Leo Barry a legend 4ever
was also good 2 see boganwood lose in 02, 03 & port powder puffs in 07 (Chappy was my pick 4 Norm Smith in 07, not Cletus Johnson)
& as 4 the person who said the gf was better when only Vic teams, i almost agree. apart from my team (who traditionally holiday in september, but not in the future) i prefer the Vic teams 2 most of the others, except Brisbane.
anybody i haven't offended?
to quote that highbrow movie Eurotrip (fn funny)
