What is the best match that you have seen live at the ground?

For me, both Collingwood vs Brisbane (2002 GF) and Melbourne vs Fremantle (round 6 2005) take the cake.

Essendon v West Coast Rd 3 2004. Unbelivable game of AFL.

Also the first quarter of the Essendon v Brisbane game in 2004 was absolutely awesome. I was exhausted at quarter time.

I saw a ripper of a night game back in 92 saints v tigers at vfl park and I think matty dundas kicked the winning goal in the dying minutes.

2000 QF Melbourne vs Carlton is certainly up there, along with the 2004 QB and Round 22 Melbourne vs Essendon this year for the sheer exhiliration that it was do-or-die for Melbourne and Essendon certainly threw everything at us.
2000 GF has been erased from my memory.
As a neutral fan Saints vs Cats the first time this year was very good as well.

Well for a finish and the raw emotion after the game it would have to be this years Swans (well N Davis really) v Cats SF.

For a great game all day, the Swans v WC SCG game this year was pretty good.

Best shellacking I ever witnessed us hand out live was against the Bombers in 1987. End score was 36.20.236 to 11.7.73. It just rained goals that day. Mind you we scored 201, 236 and 198 in three consecutive weeks at the SCG that year!

Foxtel were showing the 95 WCE v Carlton game at Subi recently

For a non final it was a classic tough as nails game that brought back a few memories even though Carlton won

You read my mind - That was an amazing game.

COLLINGWOOD: 17.12 - 114 dftd.
BRISBANE: 16-15 - 111

Not only was it incredibly close (3 points) but it was #1 and #2 on the ladder playing off, and it was a highly intense, and well-skilled game - Something like the first 8 scoring shots of the match were goals.

I walked out of that game knowing that it was one of the best I had ever seen. In fact, at three quarter time I made the comment that it was the best 3 quarters I'd seen, and then the last quarter was brilliant as well.

Melbourne vs Adelaide, 2002 Semi Final.

Adelaide up by 40 at quarter time, Melbourne 28 points up midway through the third quarter, Adelaide end up winning by 12 points!

Amazing game. Extremely ********ed off we lost though.

Hard to go past the 89 war between the Hawks and Cats, but the 87 Prelim vs Melbourne gets the nod for me. I was 11yo, in tears and near delirious after the game.

Another fave for me was the 85 Prelim vs Bulldogs. Leigh Matthews came off the bench in the last 1/4, in his 2nd last game, and ran rampant, virtually single-handedly putting us into the GF.
