The Collingwood midfield looks best on paper
But over the last 18 months or so they have lost their defensive side
They used to be two way players, but now (even according to Pendles) in a sense they are becoming more front running

On that basis i would say that Sydney's midfield is the best currently
As most of the midfield brigade are two way players

Sin City is clueless
No, he's just a typical Carlton supporter. One of my best friends is a Carlton supporter, and he's fine until you started talking football. Then he becomes a w***er. They seem to assume there's some prestige because they support Carlton, and you're just shit. They mask themselves from reality.

Good one. Get back to me after you've read the posts on TC, CSC and BF. No arrogance and smugness. That honour resides at the other club with 16 flags.

Or with North supporters who think the AFL and the stadium deal is all that is holding them back from survival and being as big as Collingwood.

I think your club and supporters hold their own.

In terms of the stadium deal, we knocked it back. It wasn't feasible. It's not the reasoning behind anything. It was also 6 years ago. Know what you're talking about. ;)

God I can't wait for another year or 2. Cotchin, Deledio, Foley, Martin, Ellis, Conca, Vlastuin could even add Edwards who is in the form of his life. Surely a top 4 midfield? Just need the forward and backline to develop a little more and we will be right. :)

Still need that quick outside wingman/HFF who burns people off and gut runs all day. Would really like to have a look at Dale Thomas...

Cotchin, Deledio, Thomas, Martin, Foley, Conca, Vlaustin, Ellis is starting to show some potentcy. Thomas would just add that extra star player to deal with.

You will also not meet a bigger critic of Shaun Grigg than me either, but when he tags he is very good at it. If he can replace Jackson in that role then I think he has a place in the 1's long term....because Jackson must go!

How did the Bulldogs get 4 votes?
Someone clearly had an agenda. The Bulldogs had one of the best midfields in the comp mid-2010 with Wallis & Liberatore coming later in the year. Even now, our midfield's competed well with the likes of Geelong, North etc, and Libba's easily one of the best clearance players in the competition, and guys like Griffen & Cooney are still playing top level football.

But hey, you're delusional enough to think Sam Reid's a far better player than Liam Jones, so what do I even expect?

This thread isn't about Reid or the chip on your shoulder because I rate someone higher than one of your own.

To think the Bulldogs deserve to be mentioned in a conversation about the league's best midfields is laughable and embarrassing on your behalf.

You're the one who clearly has a chip on his shoulder, I referenced that thread to back up my point that you hold a grudge toward the us.

and I'm not saying the Bulldogs should be mentioned in a conversation about the best midfields in the league you knob. You expressed your bemusement at the fact that some people at the time thought it was feasible that they could've had the best midfield within 3 years, and given the players we had at the time, along with the two Father/Son picks coming in, there's a perfectly good reason to believe that it was.

Why highlight your bemusement exclusively at the Bulldogs getting votes when the Gold Coast and the Lions both got votes despite having clearly worse midfields? Because you're a bitter sad case with an agenda.

GC or GWS - as long as they develop those kids properly, will have incredibly talented midfields you would think.

At least Carlton supporters have stopped sprouting about Kruezer being an extra midfielder. If he was so agile and nimble the ball wouldn't have strolled out of there backline the other night. Not doubting he has decent agility for a big man but he is still very much a ruck and what he did at 18 he now can't do being 10kg plus heavier.

Let me get this straight. I don't rate Jones as highly as you so I have a grudge against the Bulldogs? Yeah nah I don't worry about the Bulldogs enough to hold any grudges against them.

The Gold Coast had years of top picks coming up + Ablett so it was a no-brainer for them to be mentioned. The Lions had the makings of a very young and successful midfield at the time, too. Believe it or not someone is allowed to not have a high opinion of a list without having any sort of agenda.
