You do realise Mcphee won a b&f in a team that finished 4th Last.

You do realise McPhee won the B&F in 2004 when we finished less than two goals from a Prelim?

Furthermore in that same team Hird, Lucas and Lloyd all missed plenty of game time.

Furthermore McPhee also missed plenty of game time due to injury in 2005, an injury he carried all season and did not play the last half a dozen games or so.

And Scott Lucas played every game.

Whilst Jason Johnson was definately not at his best.

He won the best and fairest.

Thanks all - updates are in bold.

BTW - are there any other 37s or 41s????
And is there enough interest for me to launch polls to make each number opinion BF official????

Overall, a good job.

However, I'm not sure how you could have Dale Morris higher than Lance Franklin. Franklin made a great impact on the Hawks in 2005, even if he was up and down in his consistency. Morris was a good, but quiet player who did a job late in the season. I would have had Franklin-Morris-Vogels for #38, but as I understand it, Franklin won't be #38 in 2006 anyway.

Wojcinski is coming off a knee injury in 2005 so who knows how he'll go in 2006? Like Franklin, though, Lewis is switching numbers in 2006.

Nick Stevens, IMHO, is not the second best player to be wearing #24. I would have #24 as J. Bolton-R. Robertson-T. Croad-M. Coughlan-N. Stevens

Mate, you're a knob.Which is not necessarily a bold statement given you follow the most overpublicised and overrated bunch of girls in the competition, but your Bowden/Archer comparison is testimony of why people should be banned for being ******ed dipsh1ts...At the age of 40,Archer would still be head and shoulders above Bowden, not to mention above anything in that pathetic congregation you claim to be a football team...

Knob... :(

Nice. Can't argue the points, so you turn to personal insults. Mature.

Interesting then that Bowden won AA selection in the position Archer plays.
Archer will always be remembered as an all-time great. He will always be the better footballer. He'll always have had the greater career. But in 2005 Bowden played better footy and he will do again in 2006.

The quickest bloke on the Dogs list. The bloke who tagged the oppositions best player most of the season. The bloke who represented Australia in his first season.

And Franklin is no longer wearing 38, is he not?

I'll switch Maguire and Sandilands for you, but I stand by all the others.
Croad may have been AA CHB, but I still don't think he's as good as any of the others - who all play different positions.
Franklin has ability but IMO did no more than Vogels (who won at least one match off his own boot and possibly would have won two premierships in one year if he didn't get hurt in the seconds grand final) - and as Longy413 said, Morris played for Australia.
Kennelly and Bolton are crucial members of the premiership backline, while the two you want promoted have had one good season and need to back it up.

Spellcheck - thankyou - Sellwood will go 2nd and Hentschel 3rd.

Again to Longy413 - if we can confirm McPhee is definitely still in 33, he is automatic No.1 in that number. For now, I'll back you.

I'll look to run some polls once all clubs have confirmed their numbers for 2006.

Lol. Good idea. Then we can finally have a proper general idea.:thumbsu: :thumbsu:
However sometimes on polls people will only vote for the player from there team.
Im in the most popular player one I am doing at the moment it happens a bit. Although players like Brad Johnson and Judd poll from all supporter bases.

Justin Shermans gonna have 11 this year for us....would be up there if not now but in the future

I rate the kid highly but if Corey is at 5 then it will be tough to squeeze him in.
I think Corey is one of the most underrated in the league. Constantly racks up 25+ touches, kicks a few goals and is a good runner. Had him in my dream team and he killed it. I would almost have him at 1 in that group. Infact I would.
Corey, Archer, Bowden, Smith, Sherman, Pevrill.
That would be mine

Good call...interesting poll but maybe votes from the supporters voting for their own team's players should be discounted.

LOL at Mark Williams. He's had one super season that he now needs to back up. Craig Bolton has finished in the top 6 of the Swans B&F for the past three years (including 3rd in 2005) in years in which they played off in a PF, a SF and won a premiership. He's also been selected to play for Australia.

Come back and argue that one in another couple of years when Williams has backed up his 2005.

There seems to be some question as to whether McPhee is a 17 or not. If he is, he's clearly top of that list of 4 in my book. I'd rate Kane Johnson next, then Kennelly, then Cooney. Cooney seems to have the talent to overtake all the others listed but again, come back in a year or two and argue that one. Scott Burns is also quality, and while there may be a question mark over whether he can get close to his best in 2006, on past career he'd comfortably fit in at number 1 or 2 on this list.

The list of 24s looks pretty even but over their careers to date (and with reasonable expectation of what they should be capable of producing in 2006), Nick Stevens is slightly ahead of the rest IMO. The rest have all had at least one excellent season but none has delivered consistently over their careers thus far, whether due to injury or other reasons.

In mine on the most popular player I have made it so if it is a tie the player who has the most votes from a nuetral supporter will go through to the next round. Jonothan Brown went through because of that.

Also Mcphee is 100% number 17.
http://bombersfc.com.au/default.asp?pg=players
It says so on the Bombers website.

Number 41 rises a little problem since Pearce is now wearing Tredrea's number 16 since he has become captain and taken over number 1. So another 41 will need to be found.

Yes, but isn't this about he best player of each number? Craod being AA clearly means he is the best 24 of 2005. None of the other players made AA, therefore Croad should be number 1.

That has been like that since he wore 17 for Fremantle four years ago.

He is 33, 17 is Scott Camporeale, and that's not Essendon's site.
That's Telstra's Essendon site.
Just goes to show you how pathetic that site really is.

That's not the Essendon website. It's the AFL/Telstra version of it, that most Essendon people do not visit nor take any notice of. Having McPhee as number 17 is just one example why. It's a crap site. Camporeale will wear 17, and if you go to his page it has him as wearing 16 (his former number and the number of Kepler Bradley).

Here is the official list of numbers, from the official club site -
http://essendonfc.com.au/news/news.asp?nid=4535

McPhee 33, Camporeale 17.

And one comment on the number 11's. Joel Corey is a better footballer than Damien Peverill.
