Best possible jumper compromise for 2012

Remind me why we can not go back to the traditional Lion on the front of our jumper?

Put the old Lion on the front and the jumper would be perfect. But too smart for the Brisbane management, gonna have think of something more shite than that.

I'd love to go back but it would be seen as going backwards and I seriously doubt the club would do it.

Why not? Merchandising sales would probably go up a tick, and Kooga gets a new re-issue of a classic jumper.

Fair enough Everton, maybe they could go with something with some more blue in it,like the one from 1995 pre season that Fitzroy wore. The yellow just looks awful in my opinion looks like Mustard.

It would be like Carlton going back to the old CFC monogram on their jumper.

..Have I missed something?...what have they got now, if not the CFC?

..by the way, stop all this silly talk of new jumpers etc.....we just want our old jumper/logo back.......so you young whippersnappers can forget "going forward" .....its brought us nothing but misery ever since we "moved forward" last time...just give us back our proper jumper that we are recognised for and we will be happy...

There is no need to change things just for the sake of change you know!

Sorry young Everton... but just don't agree with you...seriously, going back to our right and proper jumper is not a backward step...its just not..

..its righting a wrong...and putting our club back to rights, the final piece in the cleansing process that has taken place at our club since the review..

Don't ever think going back is always wrong.....its not, if its the right thing to do and the answer is back there..

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the new Lion and they should have kept the jumper and Lion the same, but it has unfortunately been changed and changing it back completely would be a going backwards.

Says who?

The old administration made that decision not the incumbent administrators. The AFL have a rule that changed jumpers must remain for a minimum of 2 years (expiring end 2011).

Do you personally know that the present administration like the new design? It is hideous, surely they can see that and what the paddle-pop jumper represents.

I ask again, why does reverting back to the former lion or similar type design necessarily mean it is a backward step...besides some vague analogy referring to Carlton decades ago?

How's this for a compromise...

The current admin give us our REAL jumper back and in exchange they don't get kicked to the kerb like the previous admin that ****ed with our strip.

Some would argue that the current jumper was the step backwards. Going "back" is just righting a wrong to most of us.

To quote the great Matthew Campbell...

Bingo, Bango, Bongo, GOAL!

I'd like to see the old jumper back and don't see a return as stepping in the wrong direction. From a marketing perspective we could have three premiership champs and Vossy talking about how much it meant to them playing in three flags and the jumper being a symbol of that success. They refer to them as the glory years but state a new passage of glory is approaching. Then we have our future leaders join the champs donned in a new Kooga iteration of the classic jumper as they ask us to join them as they bring us a new passage of glory. 'Lions 2012: returning to glory' or something of the like.

This is our jumper.

Now that is a brilliant suggestion....I can just see them all standing there, arms crossed (particularly Browny) with "that look" of superiority and pride, and the young ones (the three R's) doing the same, emulating the older champs.....showing us that they are now the ones to lead us down that road to glory again....Browny and Voss step back, Rich and the others step forward and Rich says "now its our turn"......:heart:OMG!

Its a perfect marketing tool..:thumbsu:

I could live with those designs. Don't shoot me but i think the smaller new lion actually looks better. The same lion larger looks hideous.

When you think about it.....the previous admin. really did treat the members with utter contempt...they didn't even think it necessary to discuss the changes to the jumper...the members voice wasn't required..

..yet the Swans had to change their choice of new coach because the members weren't happy!...they wanted Roos, they spoke, and they got!!.....Victory to the supporters of the Swans and look where it took them!

..its mind boggling really, just how little those people of our admin (2 in particular) valued their supporters/members....thank god they are gone!
