Best shot on goal

Patrick Bowden was very reliable, its a pity he just didn't have the attitude.

Paul Hudson rarely seemed to miss set shots, and of course you cant forget the great Bernie Quinlan, 60m set shots were a piece of cake for "superboot" himself!

Akermanis is the best.
If anyone was watching the Bulldogs v eagles game.
He twice deliberately 'faded' the ball through from a tight angle. He's a right footer and was able to make the ball fade to the right.
I remember a couple of years ago Dermott Brereton describing how you can fade a kick by rotating your foot slightly when you kick it. I've tried it at footy training and it works. Akermanis does it all the time.

There you go.
Being only the best from 50m out on a tight angle doesn't make him the best shot on goal in the league, so why bring his name into this thread?

And please try to refrain from adding poor attempts to insult me at the end of your posts. It makes you appear childish.

Why did you bring Quinten Lynch's name into this thread? This is a forum that discusses footballers and Mr Lynch does not qualify.

And no, I will not refrain from insulting you at the end of my posts. I call a spade a spade and you are in fact a fool and a hypocrite because you have dished out the insults as well.

Get over yourselves guys:rolleyes: You're coming across as a couple of real dicks.

From outside 50m - one of the Rocca boys, espicially big Savloy! Or maybe it's just rose coloured glasses, they probably missed more then they made. Still, nothing used to raise the crowd like one of these guys bombing one from 60m out straight through the middle!

Fevola and Lucas are the best kicks for goal from outside 50m.

can't remember seeing much of the chief in action, but from all accounts, Jason Dunstall was a dead eye...

I can remember him from the early nineties onwards and i can't recall him ever being that great in terms of his goal kicking. Wasn't overly accurate.

Lockett > Lloyd >>> Dunstall

You really have no idea, Dunstall was amazingly accurate!

Since 1991

Lockett 830 / 350 behinds
Lloyd 847 / 388
Dunstall 694 / 344

Lloyd is closer to Lockett than i thought he would be (in terms of goal kicking accuracy) but other than that i was spot on. Not bad for someone who has no idea. :thumbsu::cool:

Insult to both Lockett and Dunstall to have Lloyd mentioned in the same breath as those two supreme exponents of the art of kicking for goal.

The stats show that Lloyd can in fact be compared to them in terms of goal kicking accuracy. I couldn't find the stats for pre 1991 but i still think Lloyds ratio would stack up against both players. Lockett was the best kick for goal out of the 3 of them and i would have Lloyd in front of Dunstall but as i said earlier i only started watching Dunstall in the early 90's so i am basing it on that.

I didn't bring Q. Lynch's name into this thread.
If you look back a few pages you would be able to see someone saying something along the likes of:
"I would rather have Buddy kick for my life than Quinten Lynch".
Then I went on to show that Q. Lynch has better accuracy than L. Franklin.
Lance Franklin should have never been brought into this thread in the first place. He is an atrocious kick at goal.
You're just another Hawthorn supporter on BigFooty flogging Buddy's name around on every thread, regardless of what it is.
Posting a comment on BigFooty doesn't make it true.
State the facts an unbiased opinions, but please leave launching your team and its players through the stratosphere, purely because you support them.
When I first posted that Quinten Lynch is a better shot than Lance Franklin using statistics, you called me an ignoramus, used some smilies to make your self look totally outraged and called me a fool. In one post based on what I said.
It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen on this whole forum. Ever.
If you hate statistics so much, and they don't mean squat, then I state that Tony Lockett was the worst shot on goal in the history of the VFL/AFL. Prove that I'm wrong.

Haha, I just noticed that.
I forgot that Quinten Lynch wasn't a footballer.

For someone who tries so hard to disprove facts, I wonder how you came to that conclusion. It must have been difficult.

My attempts to insult you were light-hearted.
Yours are ridiculous and probably worthy of a yellow/red card if I bothered to report you.

Lastly, being the sure-thing of BigFooty, I thought you would have realised that two wrongs don't make a right.
