McGovern is wonderful, and he's been a godsend coming from the rookie list to hold our back line together with EMac and Brown out. With them back I think he will be one of the few genuine swing players who would regular spend time at both ends during games.

Having said that he's 15 games in. No one should be judged as either good or bad after 15 games.

Just having another look here & not sure if Podsiadly was mentioned at all.
Yes, the game seems to have passed him by a bit, but even last year he was a good in both the forward & backlines.

Agreed.

Essendon would be mad to move him around. I used to think he was a spud but that's absolutely not the case these days.

He was an All-Australian Centre Half Back as a junior.

We moved him forward because we had Hooker/Pears/Fletcher at the time and Hurleys attack on the ball and attacking style made him look like a possible CHF prospect.

In the end though he is a defender through and through and will be one of the best in the comp soon.

Looks like Taberner is the best.
I remember when it was Clarke and taberner vs McGovern in the square and McGovern tackles Clarke, then tackled taberner and finally got holding the ball against Clarke with his 3rd tackle in 20 seconds. All of this with a bad knee.
