Really? It was his first game back from injury, he was played in defence with no Stewart and was absolutely fine. I'm not really sure what more you can expect and as long as he's fully fit he's a certainty to be playing finals.

Actually if SDK is in glancing distance of the minimum bench press weight he'd be on for Kolo. Schlensog signs of we draft Charlie Dean and they're even close to ready I'm doing a wing to play Blitz as a wing/ruck

Yes everyone on my bench is basically the same height. I'm aware I don't have enough defenders on the bench. No, the kps can't get a rotation. Yes Stanley has to ruck alone. It's my party and I'll cry if I want to.

Looking at the predicted b22 from the afl, if it went that way I feel that the forward line is going to again be crowded and ineffective. Kolo will need to play taller than he is and he hasn't shown great ability in those stakes so far. They're also working without Stengle who I'll put in.

Solutions to the ruck issue*:
Plan A: Rhys learns him a thing
Can Rhys take a rotation in the backline so Blitz can run through the ruck? Maybe. If he can't then can Ceglar do this?

Plan B: SDK his the protein shakes so hard he s***s concrete all summer
Drop a wing and run Blitz there in the old ruck/wing position from 2020. SDK to play KPD. How fast can he hit his brothers bench press numbers? If we brought in Schlensog will he be even close to ready?

Plan C: Alternate full games
Play Ceglar for a patch of games mid year to get Stanley in the right place. Maybe Alternate with Stanley sitting out for games against mediocre rucks. Has to play full have with no real chop out. Pray Stanley's body holds up.

Plan D: oh God make it stop
Henry to ruck? Sav as the chop out ruck with his second position being obstacle course in the forward line? Express mild panic while trying to hide deep seated anxiety. How have we had two years to find a structural replacement for Taylor but brought in players for almost every other position instead? Try not to cry. Cry a lot.

Plan E: The acceptance stage of grief

Miers in for Close, SDK for Ceglar is what I would do. Pump as many games into SDK and Holmes as we can next year.

The only thing I would point out there is that I don't think you can absorb a bunch of interchanges with two rucks rotating off the bench. Especially with old legs through the midfield we need to be providing those rests to mids. I think if you have two rucks they need second positions on the field that add value

No way. Close is better than Miers.
Ceglar is all about ensuring Blicavs does not move from FB.

He is the only ‘big’ defender we have now. He can’t be required to spend minutes rucking. Unless during DFA/draft we select a mature KPD who is ready to play.

But that makes the decision for Stanley’s support simple for me. Who is the best at ruck craft, and it isn’t Sav.

I don't know where you rotate either Ceglar or Sav on the field though.

A high workrate gun like menegola isnt getting dropped and definitely not for a defensively lazy runner like narkle.
The other 4 changes would be great though. I think sdk or whichever other kpd we draft will need to play some games as i dont think kolo will consistently handle the bigger forwards.

Ceglars not bad up forward hes not as fast or athletic as stanley but hes a good contested mark.
I agree its an issue though is blitz cant ruck anymore with no hendo.
We could play them both if ceglar does the centre square rucking then pushes forward and stanley swaps and does the rucking around the ground and pushes back to intercept mark in defence which he is more athletically capable at.
The other option is you play only one of ceglar/stanley (rotate the no1 spot to rest and manage them) with sav as the fwd/ruck each weel but sav would have to improve his centre square rucking a heck of a lot for that to work.

You dont risk one of your top 5 players getting injured rucking particularly when he isnt big enough to do it. Dont use a ferrari to do a holdens job.

Miers kicks goals. Close plays a role only. No brainer for me.

Re Blitz that is why I would have SDK in the side. He is a tall defender and you can mix and match which one plays back and which one relieves Stanley based on the match ups. 3 pre seasons in he will be ready to start playing some senior footy.

Very hard to see Stanley and Ceglar in the same side for mine. Ceglar is too one dimensional and he'd have to ruck 70% of the game with Stanley forward.
