A thread started by a misguided supporter of a club which shall remain nameless claimed that said club was the best in the comp "On its day".
That got me thinking. If every player kicked their best score in the same game, which club would have the highest score. I have worked it out for Melbourne. It took about 10 minutes. Would love it if some other teams' scores could be calculated by aligned dedicated stats fans.
RULES:
* The player must be on the current list (even if officially retired mid-season - us Dees supporters don't have much going for us this season, so I thought it only fair if I structure the rules to include Neitz)
* The player must have kicked the score playing for their current club on a single day (ie - although Neitz kicked 7 behinds one match, it was not the same match that he kicked 9 goals in so I can't write his score as 9-7.
22 Players per team.
Neitz 9 2 56
Robertson 7 3 45
Bruce 7 2 44
Green 5 3 33
Yze 5 2 32
Davey 5 1 31
Holland 5 1 31
Bate 4 2 26
White 4 2 26
Jones 4 1 25
Miller 4 1 25
Sylvia 4 1 25
Wonaemirri 4 1 25
Newton 3 3 21
Dunn 3 1 19
McDonald 3 0 18
Morton 3 0 18
Wheatley 2 2 14
Bode 2 1 13
Jamar 2 1 13
P Johnson 2 1 13
McLean 2 1 13
Total 89 32 566
Moloney also had 2.1 so I need to give him an honorable mention.
I suspect St Kilda and Essendon will have pretty high scores, and also the dominant teams of today
