A thread started by a misguided supporter of a club which shall remain nameless claimed that said club was the best in the comp "On its day".

That got me thinking. If every player kicked their best score in the same game, which club would have the highest score. I have worked it out for Melbourne. It took about 10 minutes. Would love it if some other teams' scores could be calculated by aligned dedicated stats fans.

RULES:
* The player must be on the current list (even if officially retired mid-season - us Dees supporters don't have much going for us this season, so I thought it only fair if I structure the rules to include Neitz)

* The player must have kicked the score playing for their current club on a single day (ie - although Neitz kicked 7 behinds one match, it was not the same match that he kicked 9 goals in so I can't write his score as 9-7.

22 Players per team.

Neitz 9 2 56

Robertson 7 3 45
Bruce 7 2 44
Green 5 3 33
Yze 5 2 32
Davey 5 1 31

Wheatley 2 2 14
Bode 2 1 13
Jamar 2 1 13
P Johnson 2 1 13
McLean 2 1 13
Total 89 32 566

Moloney also had 2.1 so I need to give him an honorable mention.

I suspect St Kilda and Essendon will have pretty high scores, and also the dominant teams of today

amazing that you guys haave plyers like longergan, gamble, stoe taylor et al.. that add scoring pressure. essendon of 01 never had it.

i have to say off the top of my head essendon would be top 3. only cuz of lloyds injury. gave lucas, hird, monfries ect a more focused role in fwd line...

if someone could do best score in a season that would be greeeeeeat

Lol at Kennedy being our bottom. That won't last long. Also can't believe Hansens never kicked a bag before. This proves to me how much we have lacked in this department (forward line and kicking goals) in our last ten years.

21 players who've kicked 3 or more, and 15 who've kicked 4 or more. That seems to be relatively high so far

Ok i'll do the Pies

Cumulative: 88 Goals (528 points)

Cant find any reference to the points kicked in those games but the thread is mostly looking at goals anyway. For a cumulative score its probably fair to add 40 points (Roughead and Franklin's alone add up to 10) or so making it around 568 in total

If anyone knows the points feel free to update this list

Hawkers Hero - If you had paid any attention at all, you would realise that you're resitricted to a selection of 22 players, and that their behinds are counted also.

Try again.

The goals need to be kicked at your club, so you can take Dew, Croad and Guerra's efforts off that list.
