Better at which club..

Reckon his absolute highest level was at Gold Coast but injury would probably say Geelong got more out of him.
Yeah I'm reconsidering my decision because he was pretty dominant playing for Gold Coast but just didn't get the same hero worship not playing for the Catters.

Beat me to it! Hawthorn Burgoyne for me. Since he's gone to the Hawks it scares the **** out of me every time he goes in for centre bounces against us when the game is up for grabs late.

I reckon his better individual seasons were clearly at Port.

His most "damaging" performances have been for Hawthorn.

I reckon largely because of the team around him and his polish was just so hurtful to the opposition... but dont think he has ever done as much consistently at Hawthorn than he did with the Power.

Hawthorn Dew >>>>> PA Dew

Hawthorn Gibson >>>>>>>>>> North Gibson

Hawthorn Hale >>>>>>> North Hale

Poor norf.....

Gibson a massive yes. Clarko found the perfect role/structure for him that utilised his strengths and hid his weaknesses.

Hale arguable. I would put him in the Burgoyne category as a better player with North but just more damaging at Hawthorn.

Dew? Surely you jest. 2 seasons in a very specific role as a veteran. Damaging yes but individually doesnt outweigh the rest of his career.

Sydney Barry Hall > Western Bulldogs Barry Hall > Saints Barry Hall
Got his best KOs and TKOs at Sydney

In all seriousness was the best in the business at CHF for the Swans. Was developing at St Kilda and was still fantastic for the Doggies but past his best by that stage.

This is tough.

I think he was just equally excellent at each club he played for, so I'd give it to Carlton. AFL MVP, Brownlow, Norm Smith and Premiership Medal, I think the accolades get him over the line there.

The funny thing is he started out at Carlton. Just rejected to get on senior list around 1982 or something. Considered too slow at time and our midfield depth was so strong he would have found it hard to get an opportunity anyway

I'm trying to think of genuinely difficult choices.

Joel Smith
Gavin Wanganeen
Kepler Bradley
John Blakey (?)
Shaun Burgoyne
Gary Dempsey
Tony Lockett
Peter Bell
Barry Round

Plenty before my time, so the answers might be more obvious than I think.
Joel Smith - Hawks
Wanganeen - Power
Bradley - Fremantle
Blakey - North Melbourne
Burgoyne - Port
Dempsey - out of my time but i'd Bulldogs
Lockett - Sydney
Bell - Fremantle
Round - South Melb/Sydney
