The regulatory bodies are all a complete joke
Must admit I'm very gun shy now having a decent amount tied up in the Bet Deck.

My assumption was that if a bookmaker is licensed then they need to provide appropriate financial guarantees to the appropriate State/territory licensing authority. Eg Liquor & Gaming NSW, NT Racing Commission etc.

This in theory would allow the authority to step in and payout client balances in the event of the operator going bust (which appears to be the case here).

However the NT Racing Commission have been completely silent and have done nothing to communicate with affected punters just happily standing by whilst the Bet Deck invokes stalling tactics. A sale of the operator has been suggested as the only way funds will be paid out.

Am really querying how protected we actually all are.

No they don't need to provide crap and the guarantees only covers for winning bets only but not deposits etc.

NT only needs you to have 200k in bank guarantees and ensure you show your bank statement each month to ensure you can cover client balances at the beginning of each month.

Appreciate the legwork mate. Do they ever take the promo away early? I want to know whether I need to get on straight away or if I can wait till closer to jump time

Some they have in the past for sure, but scratchings may play a part in that with no deductions on them

unique markets for a lot of their sport I think.
Their SGM stuff is all from Sportcast who do majority of the books in one way or another.

Wondering - I placed a bet with BETR on Josh Inglis to hit a 6 in last night's BBL game. He never ended up batting (as the batters above him in the order chased the total & won the game without him needing to bat). Instead of being refunded, the bookie marked this as a 'lost' bet.

Is this normal? In my experience with similar scenarios in other sports, if a player was essentially inactive, the bet is deemed void and wager is refunded. I queried with BETR however they said that as the player was 'active' (as he played in the field) then the bet was not void.

Thoughts?

each site does different things for this and the price will usually reflect it.

Its a loss at BetR and most books who use their odds service.

Topsport void if they don't face a ball

anyone have any advice how to hedge the chase bet each way promos?

it seems like negative ev because even popular races the odds for hedging the place side on betfair is fkd

Anyone have experience reading a lifetime p&l statement for betfair?

As a recreational punter I have never really bothered with betfair much due to the liquidity but thought it would be interesting to see

So I would think net p&l = gross p&l - commission which is the case in some cases but the net pl doesn't match up for some months / sports

I was thinking years and years ago Betfair had a sportsbook. Perhaps the gross p&l is exchange and they have added the sportsbook stuff to net pl? About all I've got to try and makes sense of it

Hey guys have a question.

If I deposit $500 into a punting account and they give me $250 bonus bet. If I use that bonus as a stab on a roughie, let’s say it loses

and then I self exclude do I receive the initial deposit back still? If I have used the bonus?

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
