Big Fish ?...Hawthorn trade news and targets thread(not for trade hypotheticals)

I know I know, it's early days but I couldn't help myself. The writing's on the wall. With all our veterans leaving/retiring, we will have a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a big fish at the end of 2017.

Fyfe, Dusty, Shiel, Rocky to name a few.

Personally, I would love to see Dusty Martin. Hardly gets injured. Has become more consistent, bordering elite. Can do damage in the guts and up forward.

Fyfe has injury concerns, otherwise I pick him. Same with Shiel who's missed chunks of games each year. Dusty played 20+ since entering the game. Has a good 5 years left in him.

Personally I don't want to see a rediculous amount of money spent on a big fish, i know the club won't get sucked in to paying a handful of players a massive chunk of our payroll. That's something GC would do.

In saying that, I am a massive fan of Dylan shiel and I'm pretty sure he's the next coming up of Jesus, just not sure he'd leave GWS when they are about to embark on a an amazing period of success.

And I would be amazed if hawthorn take Dusty, hasn't anyone heard Clarko say quality of people are the most important thing at the club. Anyone who thinks he'd bring in a cancer like dusty on a huge contract needs to think a little harder.

Injuries and specifically leg injuries are a prerequisite to be allowed into the HFC! It equates to champion status shortly thereafter.

Gold Coast players are not eligible for free agency next season, given the club will then be in its seventh year in the competition. The minimum qualification period to become a free agent is eight years at the one club.
