I just saw a video pop up on Instagram and I was like, I've heard this guy before somewhere. Turns out it was Michael Moore, then I thought he died 10 years ago but he's still going. Why the **** do we get these feelings that celebs have died.

It's quite amazing, my list like every year is filled with - for the most part - elderly people mostly in very poor health, like US President Jimmy Carter, English actress Prunella Scales, English actor Richard O'Sullivan, a very frail Fourth Doctor Who Tom Baker and Shannen Doherty, who while not old like the others has had terminal cancer for years. Yet they remain living despite such poor health and advanced years.

With three on my list passing away in 2023, I found three Australians in poor health to take their place. These were actor Henri Szeps who has dementia at age 80; singer/musician Col Joye whose declining health and advanced age has been reported in the media; and 1990s Saturday Disney presenter Jeniene Mapp (the very tall blonde girl), who had kidney failure.

Of the three, one sadly didn't live to see 2024, and astonishingly it was Jeniene Mapp who died, despite being much younger than the two men (49), prospects for successful kidney transplant being good if a suitable donor can be found and even kidney patients on dialysis can live some years with this treatment.

In a way my list scares me. It's a normal thing to fear growing old, to fear diseases and other health conditions, and to fear death itself; but the thought of living year after year in such terrible health with no quality of life and no prospect of getting better, that is truly terrifying.

Joyce Randolph 99 Actress Honeymooner's

Played Trixie Norton wife to Art Carneys Ed Norton

Unsurprisingly she was the last surviving member of the show

emuboy
Wow, I didn't think Joyce Randolph - nor any other of the cast of The Honeymooner's were still alive.

Sometimes its kind of strange how things work out with the casts of old TV shows that have very few surviving members. Like The Adams Family from the mid 1960s, which has one cast member still alive. One would think that it would be Ken Weatherwax who played the son Pugsley or Lisa Loring who played the daughter Wednesday. However both Ken Weatherwax and Lisa Loring have passed away at the ages of 59 and 65 respectively, and remarkably John Astin who played the father Gomez who is still alive today at the age of 93.

With Matthew Perry (Chandler) and James Michael Tyler (Gunther) already having passed away from the cast of Friends, many years from now I wonder who will be the last surviving cast member of this show?

I just watched him in Grown Ups last weekend ☹️

St Kilda's living premiership players continue to decline in numbers with the passing today of Tasmanian John Bingley at age 82.

Remarkably, John Bingley completed just 8 senior games with the Saints yet was part of their only premiership team in 1966. There are many Saints to play over 100 and in some cases 200 games for the club, and the only September action they saw was if the last round of the year stretched onto the 1st or 2nd of September.

And given the last flags that St Kilda won at Reserves and Under 19s level were in 1961 and 1957 respectively, and that neither Casey nor Sandringham have gotten anywhere near the VFL premiership when acting as St Kilda's feeder/reserve club post 2000, the odds of being both a St Kilda player and a premiership player at any level are pretty remote indeed.

I was having a conversation once with a fellow drunk. Apparently all these celebrity deaths that people are sure happened really did happen. Our memories stem from other timelines. We all just happened to have died in those timelines as well and our consciousness leapfrogs into alternate versions of ourselves. See, every decision we ever make splits the universe and creates separate realities that branch off and in some realities Michael Moore dies early while in others he doesn't.

It makes more sense when you're drinking so have a beer:thumbsu:

Official cause of death has been ruled as suicide by the coroner.

His partner said it was COVID initially, and well of course that set off the cookers who blamed what they usually blame.

The vaccine made him turn a shotgun on his own chest.
