Not Ian Chesterton.... :(

One of the originals and still one of the all time great Doctor Who companions.

He and Babs (Barbara) were a rarity in my years of Doctor Who fandom

Don't recall any fan ever saying a bad word about them both.

Ian and Barbara were both great companions. For the obvious reason it was so long ago, one would think that given the passing of 99-year-old William Russell that very few of the William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton eras (1963-1969) main cast would still be alive today.

However, it is roughly half and half. Still living today are Carole Ann Ford (Susan), Maureen O'Brien (Vicki), Peter Purves (Steven), Jean Marsh (Sara), Anneke Wills (Polly), Frazer Hines (Jamie) and Wendy Padbury (Zoe). Cast members from the 1960s who have since died are William Hartnell (First Doctor), Patrick Troughton (Second Doctor), Jacqueline Hill (Barbara), William Russell (Ian), Adrienne Hill (Katerina), Jackie Lane (Dodo), Michael Craze (Ben) and Deborah Walting (Victoria).

This contrasts sharply with the UNIT era of the early-mid 1970s, encompassing all of the Jon Pertwee era and early years of Tom Baker's tenure. Just three main cast members of this era are still living today. They are a very frail 90-year-old Tom Baker (Fourth Doctor), Katy Manning (Jo) and John Levene (Sergeant Benton). Jon Pertwee (Third Doctor), Nicholas Courtney (Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart), Caroline John (Liz), Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah-Jane), Richard Franklin (Captain Yeates), Ian Marter (Harry) and Roger Delgado (The Master) are all deceased.

Jon Pertwee's son Sean (mainly of Gotham fame) just turned 60 last week

Time really does pass in a blink of an eye in many ways.

A watch & see alert -

TV doctor Dr Michael Mosley has gone missing after going on a walk on a Greek island during a holiday.
A massive police search was launched after Dr Mosley, 67, vanished after a hike in Symi on Wednesday.

Greek cops believe Dr Mosley has “ fallen from a height” after his walk along the St Nicholas Beach.

His wife, Dr Clare Bailey, 62 alerted police after her husband failed to return by 7.30 in the evening.

Seems like a really nice guy, must have been quite the fall if they are still looking 4 hours later. If it's already been this long, not great signs.

If worst has happened, I guess a beautiful greek island is as good a place to go as any.

Still no sign of him, but witnesses say he was spotted in town speaking to a few people after the reports came out.

Very very strange story developing here.

Foul play?

The Island isn't that big, if he were alive they would have found him by now.

Very strange, could he have suffered some sort of medical episode and ended up in the sea?

Apparently CCTV picked up footage of him (alive) 24 hours ago.

I wonder if he was/is trying to fake his death like Olivia Newton John's ex about 15-20 years ago as part of a massive insurance scam

There's CCTV footage of him on the main street of Pedi, after he left the beach to walk there (20 mins)... He had an umbrella with him. That's what's even weirder. Did he meet foul play? But it's such a small place!
