Everyone will have a different opinion on Pete.

Yes gambling is rife in sport.

With that said, having a player and manager gambling on games they could influence should (and did) have him struck from any further honours.

You can still acknowledge the incredible player he was while conceding what he did was wildly inappropriate.

Pete Rose too, that'll be a complex one for baseball.
Saw Pete Rose in Las Vegas some years ago. He was in a collectibles store autographing stuff for people for a charge. Apparently, that was a usual source of income for him. No matter, he was one of the greatest players ever, and as a Cubs fan, I hated him.

I grew up a Cincinnati Reds fan and lived through the era of 'The Big Red Machine'

Always wanted to meet Joe Morgan (passed 2020), Pete Rose (now gone) and Johnny Bench (greatest catcher ever.)

This one hits hard.

Vale Pete, legend and all time hit leader.
