Hello everyone,

This coming week the Bigfooty draftcast will be running with a WA focus as resident Draft Watchers Bastyy and PMBangers join The_Wookie to recap the recent WA U19s squad practise matches. To go with this, we're opening up the floor to questions from bigfooty, so if you have anything you want to know about WA prospects, their likely position in the draft or Bastyy and his rankings, feel free to ask them in here

Cheers,
PMBangers

One for all of you.

Are there any prospects who were talked about a fair bit in 2019-20 who've fallen off the radar this year?

Further, are there any prospects who look like re-emerging on the radar around about now-ish?

Thanks for the questions, we'll be recording the episode tomorrow night.

You may be wondering, 'Bangers, if there's no new episode to announce why are you posting in here?'

Excellent question! As the finals come to a close we will be looking at each club, looking at what their needs are and which prospects may appeal to them at various points in the draft that fit those needs, as well as looking at any draft relevant NGA, Northern Academy or Father-Son eligible prospects for each club. If you have a question about a certain prospect and what their strengths/ weaknesses are that you think would fit your club, we want to hear it!

Please ask below xx

Question about Collingwood- if they live trade into the 15-40 range post matching a Daicos bid, which talls should they prioritise to go with Daicos and Dib ?

copying this over here so I don't forget it
can’t say that I do like anyone for Adelaide. But I would be interested to see who North goes for at our second round?Do we go for one of the WA talls considering Comben’s injury history?

Give me a heads up before you do the Brisbane episode.

The last thing Hawthorn needs is another back flanker, but we do need a player with the weapons Josh Sinn provides. Can he be a midfielder as he develops?
Currently slightly prefer Goater and Erasmus around our first selection.

Which players could North look at to replace Aaron Hall and Robbie Tarrant from this draft?
I think North will try trade to get a couple more picks in the 15-40.

Hall replacement would bring speed and power from half back and a good penetrating kick.
Tarrant replacement would compliment McKay and Corr with intercept marking and sound decision making from D50.

Who are the less talked about 2nd round prospects who play mid/forward. We need skills, agility and a bit of aggression. Just generally more balance for our long term midfield mix ... Some class to go alongside worpel, Newcombe, maginness, Nash etc. So keen to hear about who is in that 20-30 range that fits that profile.

Can you give us a pros and cons of goater vs draper vs Erasmus at our first pick. All seem to be in that equation as flexible mids but what types are they, how do you project them at the next level.

Thanks for asking for our input and looking forward to the episode

Separating it state by state, which states do you think will be benefited or hindered the most if a National Champs don’t go ahead. And do you think clubs might tend to favour kids from their own state because perhaps they never got to see a lot of other games in other states in real life. Do you think a club ever picks a kid from video footage alone?

For hawthorn

1. comments on the types likely available at our first:
Mid/forwards: Draper vs Erasmus Vs Sonsie
Bid bodied mids: Goater vs Kvenitt
Outside speed: Sinn vs chesser
How do these guys compare for talent vs the guys picked in similar spots in last 2-3 drafts?

2. Who are the best pure wing types who could be available in early second round? Eg wanganeen-Milera?

3. Who is the best mid draft kpd prospect for the FB/lockdown type?

My questions are just based around getting to know more about Prospects that suit Hawthorn and some in particular like Goater, Erasmus, Sinn etc.

Who they play like, what are their strengths and weaknesses and why would Hawthorn go for them and why would they not? and who in the end do they want/need.

104 – WA U19s, the Neil Erasmus Fan Hour
