Iron Maiden merchandise talk reminds me of the first time I noticed that everyone who flogs bootleg merch is always English or Irish.

Walking back to Richmond station after a Rod Laver Arena show about 10 years or so back, "I'on Ma'en t-shirts, twen'y dollars, two fer thir'y, come on lads!"

It was the "come on lads" that nearly got me, the actual t-shirts didn't look that bad either.
I stick to official merch for t-shirts, one of my best tour t-shirts is a Maiden one with Eddie holding a VB on the back, from the Somewhere Back in Time tour

What's on the front? I got the Somewhere in Time cover art for that tour shirt. Wish I had also bought the Aces High one.

Got Eddie holding a kangaroo road sign with blood on it. Standing in front of ayres rock or something.

Yep. Remember that one. Think I got a NOTB one at either the FF tour or BOS tour. Maybe FF. Might have passed on a shirt at BOS. Hopefully they are here again in 2023. Judas Priest too. And Overkill.

I'm hoping Overkill take up residency at Crown, I'll go see them once a month!

dwwaino can not get enough of his regular Overkill tours. I can't imagine how he's got through the last couple of years.

Stuck on graveyard shift again so checking out a bunch of new stuff:

Destruction - Diabolical__ I've been looking forward to this one since hearing the singles weeks ago. Solid heavy thrash, sounds more like the old stuff than recent efforts. No Faith in Humanity is flipping sick, State of Apathy & Servant of the Beast as well. I'll be grabbing this if I see it in store!

Kirk Hammett - Portals (EP)__ 27 minutes of instrumentals, it's thereabouts with anything Metallica's done in the past 15 years. Seems one of the better recent footnotes in their career so worth a look.

Speckmann Project - Friends of Emptyness__ Bloke from band Master, sounds like just punky/rockier songs by death metal band Master. Noticed it's just come out on Napalm Records, same lable the new Destruction albums out on.

Def Leppard - new songs checked out, the 2nd single sounds good. Skull Fist - Paid in Full on now.

I liked the last couple tunes. Opening half I thought was pretty bog average.

Will give it a crack once I get the cd. Got new Negative Plane on now - people raving about it. Reckon it is something you probably need to listen to quite a few times before arriving at that view (there is a lot going on).

Classic Aussie thrash

One of those bands that really should have been a lot bigger than they were. Given what they play and the era they came from, if they'd been from California they would have been massive.

New Satanic Warmaster tune is out. I had no idea a new album was on the way. Hell yes. Getting a Fimbulwinter vibe from the riffs of the new tune. So many new BM albums this year. Reckon I'm going to listen to more new stuff in a single year than I have in the past 5 combined.

The song is pretty good. Better than I thought it would be. The ep is out in a couple of weeks. Think there’s a new White Death on the way too. I like the Finnish sound.
