Yep he definitely loved/knew his dm, which was funny when considering all the hate they copped from the scenelords early on. Met him briefly years ago (on one of their 58 aust tours ha!), just a really good dude

Never met him but just seemed like he had time for everyone and was a top dude. Only saw them twice (late bloomer to live music) but always had a blast at TBDM shows.

I see Skeletal Remains are coming our way in November...wont be missing that.

Danzig II: Lucifuge
Have you seen the footage from his recent show where he played that album in full? Not too shabby for an old fella.

Love the first 2 Danzig albums, and was stoked to meet him at the instore he held at utopia records 1000 years ago.
They played a (biggish) club called selinas up here which had a great run of heavy gigs there for awhile in the early/mid 90's, and it was the first gig I'd ever seen sweat dripping from the roof, godamn it was the hottest gig I've ever been to. Imagine something like that happening post-covid, the mind boggles 😄

And yes, well aware of how vaguely ridiculous some of his posing is too 😄

Reminds me of a Dragonforce (remember them?) gig I was at as a kid in the mid-00s. It was at Max Watts (then The Hi-Fi Bar), at the absolute peak of their popularity. Place was packed, maybe even exceeding capacity. Air con turned off...

Similar at an Obituary show in 2013. They were only touching their first three albums, and dedicated their set to Slayer, being the day Hanneman died. The Gershwin Room at The Espy is small anyway, so no matter the numbers, it's full, but again, no air con...

What happened?

Can’t get over the White Death footage. Probably ruin them for me. Haha.
Not really sure what happened to be honest. I thought one of the guitarists had tech problems. They walked off stage and the singer came back on 2 minutes later and said they can't continue due to "personal issues".

Hah, I had no idea what was happening during White Death, I was way up the back for them and couldn't really see what was happening.

Inquisition, Destroyer 666, and Mortuary Drape were the best sounding bands. Beelzeebubth/Mystifier, Graveland and Satanic Warmaster were enjoyable. Sargeist sounded like shit - just a wall of noise live. (For some of the othe bands)
