The first touches and passing of Roma looks at another level to Spurs at this tempo, the midfield has been horrible

I think Tottenham fundamentally is still a bad passing team, they struggle when the tempo is slow like this. Kulu is almost ineffective and Sarr isn't a passer in the middle. Johnsons poor on the ball

Haha an with that Kulu gets it on the counter and Johnson scores with good movement

This has been a horrible second half as well. No idea what the hell is wrong with this team but they just completely fall into like a trance state of just watching things happen and the passing and care for the ball turns to shit. On another spurs could 2-3 down here.

Dragusin and Davies great in the city game. But when we should have majority of possession they're liabilities at the start of our build up

I still think that midfield 3 was really poor all game apart from when it turned into a transition, when the play was slow Roma were far better at moving it around than Tottenham. Most of spurs chances came off the counter again.

Also that miss from Son at 2-1 from 10 yards out, like ffs. Kulu post, Solanke Post, and yet still were outplayed a good part of the game

Agree the midfield struggled but it comes from the base behind them. We didn't look comfortable controlling the game at all. And never do with that duo

28 shots to 23, I knew it was open but man that was a crazy game. All the defensive intensity was gone from the city game it really was like a friendly

Saw it was 3.7 XG to 2.1 XG.
Not saying spurs deserved to win either just showing how bloody open the game was

I feel for ange with this game

Had to play Bentancur over Biss for obvious reasons. But agree it doesn't suit him at 6 when we need the 6 to run the show with sub par ball playing CBs.

Had to rest Maddison for Fulham. He'll be very important on Sunday and must not have been thought as able to play 270 mins across 7 days. Also think Kulu was needed here in midfield because of the power of Kone. Offered a better pressing option than Maddison.

Gray was good at LB I thought. But Porro was very poor. But we can't rotate both full backs because the squad wasn't properly filled.

Not a disaster and not really anges fault tonight. But now out of the 8. That point in Turkey would have been handy when we had a semi fit squad, we'd be 4th. Must win our next couple and avoid those extra games

Weirdly I thought spurs sat too deep in this game which gave Roma alot of possession and whilst it helped with high XG chances for Tottenham it also allowed the better technical team in Roma to dominate. With the players Roma had up front I think the high line would have worked much better
