Probably Poch has seen enough of Foye to convince him he doesn’t need to sign a back-up. That would be a bit depressing though.

Doesn’t look like a big marquee signing for the new stadium then. Our board lacks serious ambition. Kudos for the amazing new stadium but there hasn’t been serious funds available to Poch since he arrived. It feels like it might be a huge wasted chance
 
Patience. I too would have liked a signing by now but as said numerous times before they have closed the leaks.
We don't hear shit anymore. Just because we aren't hearing about any credible links does not mean players aren't be sought after.

From what I've read we're looking at possibly letting Sissoko, Dembele, Alderweireld, Janssen and Llorente leave but no concrete offers have come in.
The lack of outgoings is delaying incomings as we don't know who is leaving. All because the EPL have move to an earlier window and continental teams aren't yet biting.
 
We knew we were trying to sell them in May. Think we are about to hit the 4th place trophy phase of consolidation while we pay off the stadium. Which we are struggling to get a naming rights sponsor btw. Both our stadium and the London stadium are struggling to attract sponsorship offers that the clubs want

Yes but they're still here and we're already over our 17 foreigners limit so buy and then not sell and bloated squad.
No sales or imminent sales yet.

I like that you are keeping the faith. I’m not genuinely feeling it this time though. I wanted our business done earlier because I know how long it takes Poch to trust a player to embed into his system

Nah I read an article in a business in sports newsletter I get every week that sponsorship money in the uk is harder to find this past 12 months. Both stadiums struggling to meet what they thought was reasonable value because big business aren't valuing it as highly as 3-4 years ago

Yep. Anyone we sign from here is a backup or underwhelming until the 19/20 season. Like son in his first season. Our growth hangs on Lamela and Lucas having big years

Not about that at all, and yes I have read his comments.

What we know so far

- Alderweireld may or may not be out. His comments post world cup suggest he expects to serve out his contract, but at the same time is issuing a come and get me plea to others. Not yet sold, retained or re-signed.
- We need an Englishman for UEFA HG.
- Grealish as a life long Villan reluctant to leave but may need to. AV just bought out so that'll drag out to deadline week.
- Levy hates losing guys for free and Mousa has 1 year left. Only China, Milan and Inter interested. Milan have FFP issues, Inter no bid (and just bought Nainngolan) and China window closed.
- Known admirers of Martial. Utd reluctant to sell.
- No takers for Llorente and Janssen likely loaned.

Alderweireld situation affects whether we buy there.
Villa takeover affects Grealish.
Grealish affects whether we need to buy an Englishman in another position for one of Mousa, Sissoko, Alderweireld.
They could all stay.

To be honest the article you mention isn’t making sense as the PL is still expanding globally. I’m inclined to think it’s more a case of us having to understand that we are not yet a winning brand like the Manchester clubs and Chelsea are, so we can’t expect those kind of dollar bills despite the excellence of the stadium. The London stadium has a different set of problems, even their own fans hate it. Surely that would have an impact on sponsorship

Grealish has been quoted as saying he’s up for leaving Villa as he wants CL football. That’s certainly a change from what’s previously been said.

We haven't got a partner yet not because companies are in a bidding war going up against each other but because no company is meeting our expectation. The article basically says its economic based which may be true or it may be because both clubs have over valued the naming rights. Either way we don't have a naming rights partner signed. If it's not announced by August 1 there's real risk we don't have one until after the season begins which in turn brings down the amount of months the contract lasts. No company will sign say from sept 2018 to sept 2028 and give up the naming rights during a season so it'd be a sept to July/August deal

Yep. He wants us and not Fulham who have now joined the race. We want him but are being cheap campaigners. Karma bus should smack levy in the face and he goes elsewhere for the price AV want

and Villa want 40m. Either we wait and drive the price down as they need to pay off FFP or walk away.

If we do sign Grealish, how much game time do you think he’ll get? More than a Winks, less than a Dier, or a regular starter?

Equal with what winks got pre injury. Apparently Onomah isn't on the tour so he can go to villa and do his medical with another loan or maybe permanent
 
The Dembele role will be split between Eriksen, Grealish and Winks. Eriksen against bus Parkers so we get more attacking talent on Winks/Grealish in other games
