Yeah agree, Levy doesn’t seem like a man with a particularly large ego and definitely has the club at heart. I think he would advise Uncle Jo to sell if it was for the benefit of the club

Say whatever you want about our slow transfer business but those 4 pictures prove he has not only the betterment of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club at heart but also the Tottenham/Haringey area.

It is my opinion that he is like that. Not discounting what he has done for the football club, just feel he has missed many opportunities to go from a potential club to a genuine champion winning team. We are currently blessed to not only have an exceptional top 14 or so but also our lack of injuries that have allowed our most crucial players to play most games.

I think part of it is Alderweireld.
Poch does not want to play someone refusing to sign but his only suitor is Utd and Levy said he wouldn't sell to them after Berbatov.

So we're trying to get a swap for Martial. That depends on Ed Woodward and Jose.
If it occurs we'll buy De Ligt for 50m or so. If it doesn't they'll bow and give TA what he wants and we won't need De Ligt but will need to spend on an AM/W.

Grealish is apparently that we don't want to spend 40m on him but new owners are now refusing to sell him.
I think that may be holding us up.

Nope.

We are better than Chelsea. Better defence. Better striker. Better midfield.
They're better in AM due to Hazard and Willian (who we could have had). Similar in GK.

And they're in EL. Which ****s seasons.

Miles better than Woolwich. Apart from Torreira they've bought guys that barely improve them.
Lichtsteiner is old. Sokratis got rinsed by Kane and Son twice. Leno is the German Gomes. Still have a shit midfield. Shit defence. Shit wingers.

We have one thing to be positive about. Moura will be like a new signing considering how little Poch used to him last season. He probably feels he’s properly embedded now to use him fully. Will get his big chance when Son is away

Disagree on Chelsea. Still largely the same side that won the title. Defence is pretty good and midfield is stronger than ours. They desperately need Higuain.

We need them and United to struggle. It’s possible. But we shouldn’t be in the position that we are because that’s where we were 2 years ago

Problem is we need English players which is why he is a must. We stuffed up not paying the price for Barkley last year.

Personally I’d rather Ward Prowse for 40m but it’s not my money we just need to get an English midfielder for whatever it costs

thats gotta be a problem at most prem clubs to be honest - moreso the top six. Now we don’t play EL it’s hard to give the kids meaningful game time. We’ve still had more than most come through in recent years

Is it really that hard to put one or two on the sub bench in home games against sides like Huddersfield or Brighton? Get a couple of goals up and give them the final 5-10 mins. It's what SAF used to do

Still wouldn’t be enough I’d imagine, not if they feel they can go to a lower prem club or championship side and get regular game time.

SAF used to also romp the league and have the best youth in the country.
If he wants out let him go. He presently doesn't warrant selection in the first squad and if he's unwilling to wait. Good riddance.

He is easily good enough to be our #3 striker pushing Llorente for the #2 spot. It's no surprise the sides linked to him are of real top quality in terms of youth development (Lyon, Dortmund, RBL)

Edwards reportedly also has a shocking attitude, and was sent back to the club from Norwich because of it.
We know how guys in the first team with bad attitudes fair with Poch. These kids have no hope getting more generous treatment.

Yeah but hindsight and all that. You can’t just say “we shouldn’t have bought him because he’s crap” when at the time they were potentially decent signings. I think we can agree that Sissoko was the exception to that one though

They were all speculative apart from Sissoko who we knew would be hot and cold. Don't see the harm in going to a Georgiou over signing 2 flop wingers from France. Or a Griffiths over a dutch striker who had 4-5 good months of football or a 30+ year old target man who doesn't fit our style of football

I think in true Levy-nomics fashion the academy isn't actually to get first team players but to make money from. If they make it at Spurs it's a bonus or exception not the rule. We will see more 500k - 2m sales now from the academy rather than give them a go like Mason & Townsend who got us in the long run 8-10m
