Seems like those close to the JUH were either delusional, highly optimistic or were lying to you.Last I heard he was back training with the main group and working on getting his fitness up to scratch? Have you heard different?

Two games in, no closer to playing for dogs.
Latest is that JUH gets anxiety from being near teammates & big AFL crowds so won’t go to games.
However, going to NBL, NRL, the pub, displayed on instagram - are all sweet as.
I’m glad this impending train wreck of a situation slipped by the Crows when the Dogs matched.
I’ll say again Crows supporters would be melting by this point. Instead we celebrate Thilthorpe.
Beveridge said a week or so back that he doesn't know whether JUH will play again this year.Seems like those close to the JUH were either delusional, highly optimistic or were lying to you.

Nope, he was definitely back in at the club and attending every training session at that time.Seems like those close to the JUH were either delusional, highly optimistic or were lying to you.

I heard in the last week or two on local abc grandstand from a senior WB person (ceo or pres, can't remember that), "the goal now with jamara is to increase his attendance at the club and get him back training with the group". It sounded to me that they were in pure support mode much more so than football mode.Nope, he was definitely back in at the club and attending every training session at that time.
Obviously things changed.
The Dogs were never not taking Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Hamish made it quite clear to Riley what their strategy was prior to draft night.
There was no bullet dodged. Dogs were always going to match, they had traded out of the first round for points to match the bid.Seems like those close to the JUH were either delusional, highly optimistic or were lying to you.

Imagine the meltdown on here and yet another 1st rounder blown, had we actually had JUH in our squad in 2025 instead of TT.I accept your rationale -
However, the longer term discussion was related to how Crows supporters would have been freaking out way back in Feb had JUH been on the list (in light of McAsey) along with all the rumours. (Which would be true)
It was also suggested I wrote JUH off too early, and we were assured that there was no big deal, JUH was fine, coming from people inside his camp, and he’d be back in the fold soonish.
Of course one could argue no preseason usually turns to underperformance regardless, but hey that’s splitting hairs when the man doesn’t seem to want to play at all.

I thought 360 reported going back 2-3 weeks that he had trained for 2 weeks straight. I can’t recall if that was by himself or with the team but yeah there seems to have been deterioration since then.Did they?
When you posted that originally, people questioned you because every piece of football media were reporting the issues with Jamarra.
Is there anywhere that reported he was attending every training session? It sounds like he's been nowhere for a long time.

Okay, fair enough. I haven't seen anything like that, only the reports that he's been absent.I thought 360 reported going back 2-3 weeks that he had trained for 2 weeks straight. I can’t recall if that was by himself or with the team but yeah there seems to have been deterioration since then.

Look I got that from a GWV Rebel staff contact and they'd heard it from their Warnambool contact where a lot of the Rebels lads train etc where Ugle-Hagan trained and played before Scotch College/Oakleigh Chargers poached him. That source is very reliable re GWV Rebel mail emanating out of Warrnambool. You can believe it or not I really don't give a fig.Did they?

Ugle-Hagan’s emotional return to senior training on Wednesday is only the start of a lengthy reintegration with the star forced to prove his fitness and commitment before an AFL return.
Ugle-Hagan finally returned to training at Whitten Oval in a significant sign of his improved health, with the out-of-contract key forward barely stringing together consecutive sessions across the entire summer.
He has spent most of the pre-season training away from the club and, while he has been back at the Whitten Oval over the past couple of weeks, his return to playing is expected to be months, not weeks away.
Yeah I covered this earlierThere was never any risk they’d not match. They had all the second and third rounders lined up and ready to go. Interesting we bid on both recent high end, young & troubled kids.
100% correct apart from the crucial bit about JUH attending every training, which was erroneous. You are 100 % correct
Given JUH was the face of the Dogs membership drive BEFORE the Draft they were locked into taking him - we just made them pay full value. We were always taking Thilthorpe (and posted that at the time due to a contact with Westies and knowing the Crows had managed Thilthorpes injury from mid SANFL season)

So maybe not 100%? Yeah more like 50%
