What's this guy's legacy?
Strong union leader, held on to his values all the way though. Rebuilt a divided ALP into a competitive force. Lost a very winnable election in 2019 putting forward policies that would actually be quite popular today in the current environment. In some ways a blessing politically they lost as it forced the country to see the financial mismanagement of the coalition during a global crisis. He fought hard against robodebt, and reinvigorating the NDIS. Bill was never about identity politics, he simply believed in the idea that government can do good when it focuses on lifting up those is need, the real backbone of the party. Albo is the face you put forward to win elections, but Bill would be the bloke you want as PM to get things done.

What's this guy's legacy?
Mostly attention seeking, failure and hypocrisy. Made Beaconsfield about himself, lost an unlosable election due to a terrible campaign that didn't target priority issues and couldn't handle questioning, and then having a great job talking up the need for an NDIS.in opposition actually worked to gut it.

So in summary, talked the right things but incompetent and dishonest, eg. your typical politician although to be fair I don't think he is corrupt in anyway unlike many state and federal pollies from both parties recently.
