Managed to stick a mark in the last quarter but I swear he got first hands to quite a few in pack situations up forward across the first 3 quarters.

Not sure if that was a reflection of a weakness in his game or it was just an off day but if he can push forward and start holding more marks he'll be an even bigger asset.

15 disposals
1 goal
86% game time in the ruck
6 score involvements
2 contested marks

Great game.
Just to put this in perspective, Brodie Grundy has had two contested marks for the SEASON.

Not trying to hate on the guy, but there's a reason we had to move him on. A part time ruck like B-Framps has more of an aerial impact than poor Brodie does.

And that contested clunk goal is one of the major reasons we got up today. Bravo, Billiam!

If you're a ruckman and cant take a contested mark then you're a VFL ruckman, being able to provide contested marking around the ground is the 2nd most important part beside being competitive in the hitouts for a ruckman
I don't think it has to be marking, but you have to offer something after the ruck contest.

Phillips probably gets about 6 hitouts to advantage a game, half of those his teammate will be wrapped straight up in a tackle or the bill will jar free to the opposition. Rucks like him just offer so little.

Just watching the replay.
The CB after Ash’s goal early in the 2nd and he breaks away with a perfect kick to Ash.
Nothing wrong with his skills!
PS: Why wasn’t the HTB against Draper ffs??
