Kept Harris just busy enough for him to not be able to patrol our F50 unchecked, halved a couple of contests later in the game to keep the ball down our end so there's that at least, but it's hard to find anything else positive to say about his game today unfortunately.

He will really need to put in a lot of hard work and either develop or learn to use a bit of core strength in marking contests, because this is the best analogy I can find for his current level of aerial prowess after the game today:

Yeah fair and I forgot about the two dopey holding ruck frees.

Didn’t feel like Andrews impacted much though. I’m surprised he had 8 intercepts, compared to the earlier games I’ve seen Andrews play where he’s dominated I thought Frampton did enough.

I’m more worried about Mihocek tbh, his last six months has been low impact.

But who cares we can worry about that in 2024!!!

Mihocek always seems to do that, has a great start to the year then gets worse the longer the season goes. Definitely needs more weeks off next year because his body takes a hammering and he isnt young

So happy for this bloke

Didn't have the best game but did a fair job on Andrews especially early. Deserves every bit of that premiership medal for what he had to put up with at Port

Maybe I’m a pessimist but I thought he played much much better than I thought he would. His game would always be assessed based on Andrews’ influence on the game

Took Andrews out of the game which was huge. It was this outcome that allowed our smalls to dominate

I loved his first qtr. Lead Andrews to the ball and was flying for the marks but they didnt stick. He at least provided the contest to stop Andrew from intercepting in that first qtr.

The haters were right.

He isn't a forwards a-hole but he did just enough to quell the influence of Andrews to make a difference.

In a game decided by 4pts that difference was a valued contribution.

Congratulations to him on becoming a Collingwood Premiership player.
I remember a game he play for Port in the SANFL. I was with my wife watching at Alberton who is a Port Supporter. Billy kicked 6 and clunked everything. He is just inconsistent up forward. One week marks everything. Next week they dont stick at all. Down back he just seems to be able to read the play so well and knows when to leave his man to mark the ball or stay and spoil. He also has no problem finding the ball at half back. Racked up multiple 30+ touch games in the SANFL for Adelaide in his last season.

Uhm well Billy is a Collingwood premiership player, so that’s trade vindicated and regardless of his GF, he’s a big part of why we had the shortest possible route to a flag by holding down KP and ruck at various times through the year. Onya Billy!

Bill won the first half on points. Andrews hit him hard in the second and he got the stumbles.

He wasn't KO though and in the end that was good enough.

P.S- If he had only clunked a couple of those marking opportunities it would have elevated his game to another level.

Well below average and could have been a costly game, still think when Cox had a rest we were better off with BF in the ruck instead of Cameron or back in defence

Checkers is becoming a liabilityTBH as well. McStay would have steady us today but hey we are the 2023 premiers!

First 3qtrs he did his job, Andrews wasn’t involved and that a big thing for the Lions to miss. Last quarter Andrews got really involved. Maybe lack of match fitness from Billy but it was a good thing he stopped that for most of the game. No different to a midfield tagger.

That missed mark 20m out was a shocker but played his role. McStay obviously would’ve provided more offensively but I doubt he would’ve shut out Andrews like Billy did.

How’s this trying to make it sounds like it cost Brisbane the game -

“Did you hear about Harris Andrews,” he said.

“Apparently someone rang him at 1am and said, ‘You won’t be taking any intercept marks tomorrow’

I hope it was Billy who made the call.

For every Cam Mooney there’s a Billy Frampton.

Well done Big Bill you’re a premiership player.

There will be jokes and memes made about him but he kept Andrews to 7 touches, two intercept possessions and 5 marks at 3 quarter time. Sure would of been nice if he clunked a few and kicked a goal of two but you take that and winning a premiership everyday of the week. Its a premiership team where you’re club means everyone plays their role regardless if they get two touches or 29 and thats how you win a flag.

If you were after individual success you pull a lachie neale and dont show up in a granny.

All in all congrats to your club your systems and Billys selfless role in the 23 premiership

Under rated defensive game on Harris Andrews, constantly took him wide and kept Andréws in areas he couldn’t influence the game. Andrews has been dominant and controlling the last few weeks and a big key to their game.

Last quarter players got tired and dump kicked it to that contest which was not what we wanted, probably could have made a move then. However for the most part a great plan by Fly and executed well by Frampton. Billy did his part to win this flag playing a selfless role on limited prep.

I'd love to know how you'll be shown to be correct that we should have played Frampton instead of Cameron in the Prelim?
Proven right as always. Poor performance, dropped three marks…still as I originally pointed out he played his function negating the Lions structure. I thought it would be down back. Undoubtedly he would have had a better game had he played in the prelim and had some experience. Right as usual
