Not familiar with the term "Cutler" or the phrase "you up".

Does that mean carry on like a ****ing chimp the entire game by wingeing, moaning, sledging and then cracking the shits when you get flogged by 100 points?

If so, could do without being campaignerlered up!

Didn't know Cutler played for Warners Bay:cool:

But you would preffer they do their whingeing and whinning on the forum like yourself?

My question was a serious one.
Why do you feel he is a better option than the premiership coach from last year?

Because he is a premiership coach from 2 years back and was our best on the rep trip last year and from what i seen last year in Wagga, is a very proferssional operator with shit loads of experience.

Cutler would do a great job why? in his first year at Terrigal as player coach he took them to the grand final and narrowly beaten, first year at Killarney Vale he took them to the flag. What he did in Wagga last year was outstanding, the rep team was going well and truly backwards until he went into the middle and smashed anyone that got in his way and lifted everyone around him to with in a point of the Farrar not bad for a 38 year old. people may bag him but what i sore was he is a winner and we like to knock winners. i personally think its a shame he didnt get the job big loss by the board.

Sounds like he was an inspiration to the team!
What are the criterion for selecting the rep coach?
I have always heard that the BDAFL recognises previous commitment by players to the rep team when so many seem to shirk playing for the side.

With this in mind and the strong comments regarding his performance and attitude on the last venture, why was he not selected?

Not sure why Cutler didnt get the gig but i agree wuagh17 & joed true professional and just gets the best out of his players his record speaks for its self. I think most players at that level would have loved his style.

reason why i reckon cutler would be better is because he isnt coaching a team this year and doesnt have the commitment of a club behind him and such the like...plus aswel of his coaching record and what he did at the rep carnival you just dont see everyday..thats not to say harro wouldnt do a good job because he is a very good coach also..but that just my opinion..vote cutler no. 1 hahaha

no he wasnt the coach but part of the process. He could definatly play rep footy again this year with no coaching commitments he can just rip in. Is he playing this year?

I feel that supporting the Premiership coach the following year is a good concept if they want the job.

The biggest thing for Harrington, Cutler or anyone else doing a rep coaches job, for that matter will be the availability of the best players on the day.

I find it interesting that some people are supporting another person over the selected coach when to be quite honest they probably haven't even been coached by Harrington, so how do they know who is the better coach.

What about this as an idea from left field, why doesn't everyone go back to their clubs and ensure that all nominated guys have a dip and turn up and put a bit of pride back in representing the league.

Believe Harro is a pretty decent coach, after the job he did with the 18s Heat team. He's been instrumental in developing some of the Heat kids, with Braedon Jones probably his best work yet, from what I've heard......speaking of, anyone hear how the Heat boys - Nesbitt, Roach, Jones - went at the AIS camp last weekend. Hear that there were some top testing results across the board from the RAMS squad.

Interesting words about the rep side coaching position. In reality, though, the BDAFL rep coach's main responsibility is to make sure he gets enough numbers to hop on the bus! After that his priority is to find a Captain who has enough commitment to put the squad before other personal commitments. After that it is to put the players in the positions they like to play and then sit back and see what happens. If he's got the talent on the park he'll go alright...........if he hasn't he won't.

Who should be Captain in 2009?

I think its abit early to be talking about rep captains. They should obviously just pick the best team first and worry about that later. I don't think it's a good idea picking the rep captain and making them a selector(which i think is ridiculous) like they did last year. Obvouosly the cream will rise to the top and someone will stand out when the time comes.

I have never played under Harro but he obviously did alright with City last year, cause they played some outstanding footy in the finals. And I don't know much about Cutler in regards to coaching but his record is a good one. Which is all you can ask for.

I think you guys might be over rating his playing ability these days. He was and still is a pretty good player to some extent. But I could think of 24 better players than him in this league.

I think the selectors were to blame for last year. What do you guys think?

I don't know much abot the selection process nor do I remember the exact list of players who went down for the carnival but I do know, as others have written on here, that quite often the side is made up of the best of the blokes who want to have a game.
The side is rarely made up of the best 24 in the league as dissinterest and injury takes its toll.
This is prob why blokes like Cutler get a wrap because they put their hand up, their heart on their sleeve and have a dip to represent their league.

the only reason his heart would be on his sleave would be that i ripped it out and attatched it there!!!

You are an idiot loveasmoke. list your playing/coaching credentials and achievements??? take all the persanal stuff out of it. Cutler played last year because the coach made some bad decisions in the selction process and then some players didnt want to play for him with one player saying he was right to play but under an injury cloud. Cutler stepped in because that player pulled out and cutler was on the bus to do the running. I was fortunate enough to see a real leader of men by the way he just stepped in no fuss and did the job and lets say he ripped right in and showed the young guys what rep footy means. taking nothing away from harro, cutler doesnt ask for pats on the back or get on hear and talk tough his talk is in his performance and the way he coaches. And i reckon he is what the rep side needs at the moment with so many young guys. As i siad take nothing away from harro, cutler is a massive loss to the system

My credentials are I have sent three clubs and a league nearly into liquidation, I played VFL for footscray and richmond and I appointed Steve Cutler as the Rep Coach.
