****!Murphy having problems with shoulder might need further surgery
Logical, but a really hard sell.We need to look after our older players as not to wear them out, Murphy included, get him fixed up and play him out of the forward pocket. Would be good to see him play until he was 34 and sneak into a flag like Shane Crawford. Don't want to see him cooked at the age of 30 like Judd. Bigger picture here, opens the door for someone else to step up.
Murphy just needs clean up should be fine.Plowman will join in full training end of January
Murphy went under the knife last night after he was injured in a heavy collision with Crow Patrick Dangerfield on Sunday.
McKay said Murphy did not require a screw in his shoulder but he will have his arm in a sling for a month.
"Scans confirmed a fracture to one of the bones in Marc's shoulder and he will have arthroscopic surgery to investigate the extent of the damage and make the necessary repairs," McKay said yesterday.
CARLTON captain Marc Murphy has undergone shoulder surgery and it is unclear how long he will be sidelined for.
The skipper has not yet joined his teammates on their Gold Coast pre-season training campaign, having had what the club has termed "a minor procedure" on his shoulder.
He is awaiting the results of some more tests before determining how long he will be out for.
Murph will be back; he's a gun.
It begins...
