Lars only works if it is a partial tear and can end up in some cases only delaying a full reco.

The fact they said rupture leads me to think full recomstruction but he may actually be able to participate in some of the pre season (July to November being four months from surgery and partial rehab?)

So if a lot goes right he may be able to suit up early in the season but I wouldn't think the very start of the challenge games.

LARS can be used for a full tear, it's just there's not a lot of confidence in the long-term applications at this point.

As the technology evolves, you'll see it used more and more, particularly if a player is over 27-28 and no real history of problems with knee stability. When it makes the leap to a lattice which induces natural growth over and through the graft to replace, it will become the default surgical option, and layoffs will become an afterthought.

Murphy was 3 to 4 weeks after he sustained the injury. Here we are 5 weeks later, and the club are saying another 3 weeks. Must have been a more serious injury than diagnosed originally by the medical staff? When he's right, having missed 8 plus weeks, should they bring him straight into the senior side?

I just wonder if the club might just put him in cotton wool for the rest of the year. If he's still 4 week away, then he may only be available for the last month and we're clearly not going to playing after round 23. Might as well get him into hospital if needed and get him cherry ripe for the preseason.
