Did people hear the rumour on The Prendacast that Jack Martin's wife had became so frustrated with his recurring calf injuries that the she googled alternative therapies and he has flown to Sydney a few times for treatment.

Whatever - it seems to be working.

Old news.

CARLTON forward Jack Silvagni has been cleared of any significant damage to his knee.

Silvagni underwent an arthroscope yesterday to further assess his knee which was injured in the VFL last week.

On the watch list:
Acres - missed last half, shoulder in ice, AC joint maybe. Hopefully ok with a couple weeks rest
Weiters - might have been a dislocated finger? Hopefully not broken. Possible watch on tribunal for incident with Toby Greene, but don't think much in it.
Kemp - spent last 10 mins with ice on quad. Hopefully just a corky and good to go.
Saad - went off late in 2nd with what looked like an ankle injury, but came back on and ran out the game.

Kemp was smilingon the bench. Don't think it was serious.

Haven't heard anything about Acres but the way he was holding it at the outset looked bad. However it appeared to loosen up a bit as he was jogging off and he wasn't showing any great discomfort. Maybe I'm glass half full but hoping for stinger/bruising and the club being conservative with the sub.

Voss saying it doesn't look good means I've ruled a line through Acres for the rest of the year. Such a loss.

HS saying Blake Acres sore shoulder won’t stop him from playing… so who knows?

Let’s hope we get some luck here, he was playing well before he came off and IIRC was Freo’s best player in the Final against Collingwood last year.

Before the game, I said to my crew that Acres would be such a massive loss for us (never thought I’d be saying that) … he’s so valuable and we don’t have anyone to play his role. He was really playing that Crisp type role which was my ‘best-case scenario’ when we recruited him.

Enough quality elsewhere to get the job done, but it hurts.

Fingers crossed it’s not season-ending.
