Not just for injury…isn’t he high performance manager?…any reason our players look slow and unfit?
I’ve been a strong critic of Russell but it’s a long bow to blame him for speed. Hewitt could be trained by Charlie Francis, put on the same ‘protocol’ as Ben Johnson, and still be slow.

I think they’re fit enough. All the fast players are injured.

Looks a lot different when Saad, Williams, Doc, Gov, Martin, Boyd, Cottrell are available for selection. Not just foot speed, but also some decent ball use there

Why I don't get stressed about the future of our medical/high performance department...

5 time premiership winning CEO, who wasn't afraid of making changes for improved performance off field and administratively for success, who has only been in the role at CFC for just under 17 months...

Geez, we ain’t got long to go before the succession plan needs to kick in (3yrs)..

My question is why is Acres running laps with Saad and DOC away from the group?
Just workload management I reckon

Players report their workloads to the club and are trusted to be accurate in doing so. The Strength and Conditioning team make decisions as such. Plus, the GPS data that the clubs get is vastly different to what we see on the Telstra Tracker via the AFL App. I've seen it, as my friend works for an AFL club in the Strength and Conditioning department.

To give you an example, he might've:
  • Covered more total KM's than the team expected him to on matchday
  • Covered more KM's at a high speed (not Telstra Tracker high speed, but the Teams definition of High Speed) on matchday
  • Done either of the above at training
  • Pulled up sore, so are managing his KM's at training as such
  • Moved houses
  • Had poor sleep
  • Had a corky
I probably explain this pretty poorly, I don't work in the space. I get all my information in layman's terms from my friend who works for an AFL club and has worked in Football for a decade or so.

While all of the above is true, I have become accustomed to unreported injuries from our club. Unlike some others it doesn't upset me at all. I am just preparing myself for Blake not to be out there.

you reckon being named at half back is the best indicator of a future injury? (damn me too now I've typed it out)
