We are in need of another quality mid though..Martin would be good for us.

I still firmly believe Martin will come to us. This whole Trade Radio is rather a manufactured/scripted drama by the AFL to keep Footy in the news after the Grand Final.

I wouldn't stress or worry about it really tbh.

Do you guys reckon Casboult would have any value in the Martin deal?

Sorry to keep harping on about it but it keeps bugging me. Adding Papley and Martin to our mid/ forward set up will make us versatile and dangerous when we have the ball. Our commonly proposed back 6 will be the slowest in the competition however. I think we need a re-think about the composition of the side, better to be proactive now than targeted next season and beyond.

I'm not sure our back 6 is any slower than the best teams.

Richmond - Rance, Grimes, Broad, Astbury, Vlastuin, Houli, Short, Baker
Giants - Corr, Davis, Taylor, Shaw, Haynes, Perryman, Kennedy, Williams
Collingwood - Roughead, Moore, Howe, Crisp, Maynard, Aish
West Coast - Schofield, Hurn, Barrass, McGovern, Sheppard, Jetta

I don't think pace is an issue, our defence in general is pretty dam good...we just need a stronger midfield to help them out.

Weitering, Jones & Marchbank are pretty agile for KPD's. Plowman is OK. Simmo, Newman, Williamson, Doc, SPS is enough run out of the bakline when compared to the above. Willo & Doc are probably the fastest out of that lot with rebound, so it's important that we get them fit.

Am I the only one who thinks Papley, Martin and Eddie can play in the same side.

Part of Papley’s appeal is that he can go through the middle and impact. Likes getting up the ground.

At this stage of his career Eddie will almost exclusively remain in the F50 under Charlie/Gov.

Martin can play anywhere between the arcs from hff to hbf.

I want, and would be disappointed if we didn’t get, all 3.
No..Myself and many others think the same.

Given all the 'presents' GC have been afforded, they're in a position to play bully and if the CFC don't cough up what they want, can simply let Martin slide.

I know that sounds ridiculous, but a mid-second rounder may mean little to them now and they may see this to be the right time to make a stand.
It’ll still cost them at the salary cap. We put 650-700 in front of him for 3-4 years we get him for free via PSD. GC won’t keep a player that wont play. AFLPA will have a cow.

As it stands Cas is our best back up KPF, KPD and ruck. Could see him playing 20 games next year...think we'd be mad not to give him two years.

After Russel leaned him up in the pre season, he was genuinely one of the most improved players in the league

Someone should tell these Recruiting Managers that the RBA cut official interest rates to an historic low today. This view of the current economic malaise of the country is commensurate with the value of players who wish to leave their current clubs for a better future. Historic lows! Do I need to repeat it again?

In what universe are the likes of Martin and Greenwood worthy of 1st round picks. Step away from the Trade Radio as you are merely making fools of yourselves and your club.

Footy needs a bitta romance, especially after how depressing apart from this second half of the season has gone since Eddie left, I know I'll make the journey down to Melb for a training session if it means getting to see literally my favourite player before he left. Even if we get the one year or two out of him, the off-field impact will be bigger than his on-field.
