Swans were happy trying to recruit Daniher a contracted player, Yet one of their own wanted to leave and they block them.
we were happy trying to recruit Papley acontracted player, Yet when charlie/cripps/harry/weitering wants to leave we try to block them

Very possible now that we didn’t acquire Papley. However, Eddie there, may just squeeze him or Jack out, and our other pressing need, to support Cripps may be more important.
I'd like Jack in there more often to do exactly that, help Cripps out. Decent size, deceptively strong (he went with Fyfe after all).

I recall the talk being about him helping Cripps...big body etc.

His foot/ankle injuries have hampered his pace (not that he was elite in that area anyway).
Hoping a solid, injury free pre season will give him the level of pace and fitness required to play more minutes in the middle.

From a Sydney perspective, they didmt want to weaken their squad. If they got Daniher, then it would sort of compensate losing Papley, especially as they brought in Taylor to cover.
I think of it this way. Hypothetically, If Charlie Curnow asks to be traded to Cats with 2 years left on his contract, we may entertain the idea IF we get someone (lets say DeGoey) in.

If DeGoey falls through, would you do a separate deal to lose Charlie??

fu** that!

I'd be saying 'sorry Charlie, your staying'.

TBH, I have absolutely zero interest in Carlton Football Club keeping a player who doesn't want to be here.

Talk from whom? I know plenty of people on Big Footy have talked about him being a fulltime midfielder. But he isn't. He is a half forward who can chop out for resting mids.

There was definitely narrative from the CFC re: Kennedy being brought across to be a midfield bull & assistance for Crippa. Sure it was even mentioned by MK himself to get out of the logjam at GWS for more midfield minutes.

Right now, Charlie, Harry, Gov, Kennedy, Cuners and Eddie. Jack/ Levi on the interchange bench.
very good. jack and levi can rotate through there. maybe jsos can develop his midfield skills and as being a tagger on occasions. levi fills holes in back/forward and as ruck until retirement.
