It's the perfect time for both Levi and the club to maximise a return for a trade. Neither should waste this opportunity.

Unless we get an offer too good to refuse, there is no rational reason for us to trade big Levi.

Before getting too caught up in the clubs holding players to their contracts, think about how we felt when SOS didn’t budge on Gibbs year 1.

If Essendon or Sydney didn’t take a hardline public stance, supporters would feel seriously let down. Don’t misconstrue this stance with the same clubs refusing to deal.
I feel the opposite letdown every year that the AFL does nothing about a system that allows clubs to grandstand hold up and dictate ridiculous demands for players wishing to leave their current club at trade time .
If a player wants out he will leave whether we like or not .
We are now right on the cusp of landing some nice pieces to our side in needed positions and all I'm seeing is that put in jeopardy by a system that is flawed .
18 sides out of 5 states over 700 players in the comp its inevitable that players will want to move clubs and every year we have * in particular holding things up .
The AFL could make things easier more transparent and equitable but they don't because its exactly the way they want trade period to go controversy creating talking content therefore more exposure of AFL .

It seems most trade periods, one trade doesn't happen (Kelly last year, Gibbs the year before, etc).. though it must be very rare for two not to happen, surely the odds of both Daniher and Papley not getting traded is very low? Maybe i'm just kidding myself into thinking that a trade for Papley has to happen?

Agree , Its simply age that dictates peoples thoughts on Levi because on performance it just doesn't make sense .
Now a very valuable player to have as a swingman .

Silvagni and i dont rate Casboult ... you obviously do.
Can’t be bothered with your desired endless back and forth mate.
Give Macca a call ...

And there we go again, playing the man. If you didn't want a debate you could have just moved on.

As for Silvagni not rating him, howwould you know? Is that like Ed only getting a one year deal, or Murhpy 2?

Levi could win an AA gig and you would still trading for a 6th rounder

So, now if you want the last say, go ahead, can't wait for your pearls of wisdom

Hawks want a better first pick next year
They think they’ll finish higher than us

I can’t believe what they are about to do again but brining in Frost and Patton strengthens their bookends and will solve a huge issue for them. Unbelievable.
They will get Mitchell back next year and with some of the previous trades like Scully, Wingate, the improvements in their kids like Worpel, they could easily be flowering challenging again. Probably get a favourable draw as well.
Thank goodness they didn’t land Cogs and keeping everything crossed they don’t pull another rabbit this trade period.

Yeah. It is a trade period. A period designed to

A) Get clubs the players they want and get players the club they want.
B) Get the AFL and it's media partners maximum publicity over the whole period.

The last afternoon is now televised. Dodoro, who works for/with NewsCorp as much as he does EFC lol, has done Stringer during the telecast and then Shiel during the telecast. Why would Joe and all its offshoots be any different.

It's all a show. It's business, but it's a show too.

It's show business.

Also I get the impression that Levi is one of the most popular lads amongst the playing group, and I think we finally getting back to having a really close knit team, which was decimated after the Malthouse.

Wouldn't want to rock the (cas)boult by trading away the Big Fella. Part of the reason Richmond is so successful is that they have very strong team chemistry and player camaraderie.
