Nathan O'Driscoll stands out as a defensive option in that top 10.

O’Driscoll probably isn’t a top 7 player and he’s just as much a midfielder as he is a half back anyway. This just my opinion.

In any situation I’d prefer Saad and a late first over using pick 7 on a kid, whether it be O’Driscoll, Bruhn, Jones etc. Pick 7 as part of an elite mid is different. DGB could also sway me, but I can’t quite put my finger on where he ends up.

Yup...b70 says he thinks staying...c09 put a line through Saad...43 says he's already made his decision to join us.
All 3 have always had good info. We will have to wait and see!
this is bf - we don't simply "wait and see".............

Saad is a lock. If he wanted to stay he would of signed already they are trying to maximise value from us. There’s no way you go through all this publicly if you’re not staying. Essendon would be desperate to keep him. The Saads know how to extract maximum value.
Maybe the team he want is still playing finals ?

In my opinion, Saad is staying. Trying to extract maximum value. Still weeks away from trade period, the Saad camp see no rush in resigning - dragging it out for $$$
I think this time its different. I think he'll leave

Coriander & Blueberries are my Degustation discoveries of the last 6

Mate can I please have a sesh with you?

So long as you're not looking at the draft pool, that's exactly what you're doing.

I understand the purpose of the trade, but the trade valuation of Tuohy was a late 3rd.
In fact, you're right. Well said. If I can make the point though. The one thing you can never tell with draftees is whether they can actually play football. Saad can. I don't think we will over pay for him, I think we absolutely get him across on 5 years, and I strongly disagree that we are more likely to get someone more talented than saad using the 7 pick. We use 7, we get change (late first), but you get him through the door. You sometime seem tone deaf on the basic criteria of whether someone can football and over emphasise your academic analytics.

I mean you're changing the goal posts back after I've repeatedly said we should be targeting Philips, even if we have to trade up.

I've no interest in drafting a defender with our top 10 pick given the state of our 22 and our list.

Extra 50k
Car
Playing for a decent club
Don’t know how he could say no

Barass, you’re a champion
Anyone else find it humorous that a Hyundai (assumedly) is being used as a bargaining chip?

Just can’t not find it funny. “Here Adam, how about a glorified scooter to sweeten the deal?”

yep, this is clearly one of those cases. It’s his final big contract and needs to extract maximum value out of it. Leak out everything via the media until Essendon cave and give the extra year + cash.

Goalposts shifting? I’m trying to have a discussion here.

I don’t follow everyone of your posts and I haven’t seen your comments about trading up for Phillips.

Drafting or trading in a reasonably competent young KPD to replace Jones over the next 2-3 seasons should be a priority. After a mature mid.

Also a bit suspicious that a top side might come knocking for Saad but then again, he would have picked the Saints, probably will not return interstate & bulldogs pies don't need him- that leaves us and tigers at a pinch. We are looking good arent we?

How could you possibly know that he would have picked the Saints.

I reckon it's a Tesla Cybertruck, they pre-ordered one just incase they needed to get a contract over the line.
You are all wrong folks.
Apparently Saad's always had a soft spot for blue hovercraft.
Cruising Sydney Road with the elbow out the window and the music pumping going to be a real head turner.

Hurn plays as a general defender though, so he has a lot more regulation kicks, and long kicks down the line.
... which doesn't really affect what I'm saying in any way. A difference in role does not modify the level in difficulty of kicks attempted; what it'd affect is the areas/players targeted, not the degree of difficulty taken with each disposal.

Also look at which stat was used instead of the fraught disposal efficiency; effective disposal rate. Martin, for comparison, goes at 62% for effective disposals. 40% of his disposals go to the opposition.

Works because Richmond don't give a **** about turnovers.

Don’t put to my credence in waiting as most players are waiting for the AFL to set list numbers and salary cap. Much like Cripps and McKay waiting. So Saad and Essendon probably waiting for final numbers too. Who knows. Wish AFL would hurry up and let clubs know as there is probably a holding pattern right now in players not resigning because of this.

I just don’t understand why he would stay at *. We have a better team and future plus he is getting more money with us. Pls explain to me how he could possibly convince himself to stay at dons
