I read somewhere that a contract around the 400-450k mark would be enough to secure his services. Because we’ve got the 105% cap going for the next 2 years, I’d give him 500k/year for 3 years. Pay him 650K for 2 years and then 200k for the last year. A second round pick should satisfy Collingwood.Daicos would be perfect for us I reckon...agile and quick around the stoppages. Replaces what we thought Fish would bring since he's now a forward.
He's come on a lot this year from basically a 'meh' player to an up and coming gun.
Sounds like Collingwood might be sinking most of their available cap space into keeping JDG & Moore...which is fair enough.
You'd think Daicos would be a high priority too but we could probably offer a much more attractive contract.
Parfitt from Geelong might fit?Yep.. next minute, we roll out Brayden Sier
7 and 28 for Hunter and 12 would be closer to the mark. Then send 12 to the Dons and we can wipe our hands of Dodoro.
If we’re talking players from the filth... I’d just like to say that I’d take Daicos over De Goey any day of the week. And Daicos is still un-signed.
the reasons why are irrelevant, the days of rocking up and being a prick to 'set a standard' are done and dusted, been proven time and time again recently.Which may be true to a point, but you can't just blame the young.
It's us parents who've taught them they should be cushioned from anything difficult in life.
OK, that's not all one way traffic, but if we are going to shine spotlights, we have to know where to shine them.
I keep saying that the main coach has too many duties to uphold.
That's changing now and the better coaches apportion a lot more responsibility upon their deputies....as they should.
And nor should we. I couldn't stomach it.Just on De Goey, our club has spent years developing the ‘Carlton Respects’ Initiative which fights for gender equality. I just can’t envisage any scenario where we would actively chase a man charged with sexual assault.
imagine this kind of coaching nowadays --- that's BLOODY RIGHT!man, rutten has real neeldy vibes.
you don't come into a club and just tell everyone they're sh*t, cause so much of a stir that all your good players want to bail, then just expect the remaining to fall into line.
the current generation don't react to this hard-ass sh*t, they just don't.
Would prefer when we call Clarko to tell him to “Get ****ed” myself.....This is more like the Carlton I know! Williams, Saad, and now DeGoey! That’s how you do it! Throw everything at them.
Then make a phone call to Clarko, and tell him to name his price!
Let’s flex a little.
I’d tell him that Harmes, Buckley, and Johnno are still wanting to have a chat with him about 1987 in London.Would prefer when we call Clarko to tell him to “Get f’ed” myself.....
We have brought in quite a few from other clubs:
Marchbank, Setterfield, Williams, Saad, Docherty, Betts, Kennedy, Pittonet, Ed Curnow, McGovern, Jones, Plowman, Martin, Newman, Newnes, Moore
Yeah, total spud........If true.... best news I've heard all year.
They can be the interview panel.....I’d tell him that Harmes, Buckley, and Johnno are still wanting to have a chat with him about 1987 in London.
You have also said repeatedly that we are done now we have got Saad and Williamson which is totally against what the majority are saying? Any way of backing it up? Do you know for a fact that we are not chasing a big name? Or that we are and it is NOT Oliver? Thanks!Oliver will not be at Carlton next year

Would be nice if it happened, but yeah... I just can’t see it happening realistically. This
But, like so many scenarios, can't see it happening
Top Post!Any chance of developing a list they ask?
Collingwood have Treloar, Adams, Mayne, Varcoe, Greenwood, Cameron, Roughead, Crisp, Hoskin-Elliott, Howe, Dunn from other clubs.
Brisbane have Christensen, Ah Chee, Robinson, Neale, McCarthy, Martin, Birchall, Lyons, Cameron, Adams, Ellis-Yolman from other clubs.
Geelong have Stanley, Tuohy, Ablett, Steven, Jenkins, Rohan, Henderson, Dangerfield, Dahlhaus from other clubs.
Port Adelaide have Burton, Motlop, Ebert, Rockliff, McKenzie, Buzza, Dixon, Watts, Lycett, Mayes from other clubs.
Western Bulldogs have Suckling, Trengove, Schache, Duryea, Bruce, Lloyd, Gowers from other clubs.
St Kilda have Carlisle, Jones, Savage, Hill, Steele, Hannebery, Butler, Ryder, Howard, Brown, Kent, Membrey, Marsh from other clubs.
Richmond have Prestia, Houli, Lynch, Caddy, Nankervis from other clubs.
West Coast have Yeo, Redden, Kelly, Cripps, Hickey, Kennedy, Vardy, Jetta, Jones from other clubs.
They are your finals teams this year. Sure, I'd like more of our own recruits to come on quicker but you won't get there on home grown talent alone. Richmond have come the closest to developing their own side which does speak in favour of the concept but they still needed help.

Although, maybe we can push up De Goey’s contract a bit and put a bit of pressure on Daicos’ contract.
