Milburn had to get a police escort out of the ground because there were dead set a large group of supporters waiting to line him up.

Love that tribalism part of the game. He took out our favourite son, then drew the rage of the crowd by clapping to us.

I was 11 years old at the time but dead set can't remember another time I've been at a sporting match and thought a full blown riot was about to occur

That was my only few games at Princes Park, was sitting a couple of rows in front of Barry Stoneham and a group of mates. They gave a loud cheer when it happened, and made some comments. Must of rightly thought to exit before the end. Was an electric atmosphere.

What’s interesting is that we here have been given great info from our ITKS 🦇.However Carlton are saying they have NOT spoken to Clarko.I get it,I understand it but…………

Well I keep joking about it but it's partly serious. We don't need to talk to him about it. He's a four time premiership coach, he knows which clubs need a new one and which don't. And if he wants to coach us he'll just tell us cause it's more polite than just showing up at trade week in a Carlton shirt and expecting everyone to catch up.

Barass reckons it'll be in the next few days ...but he hasn't spoken to him either!

They can't go out and admit they're chasing up Clarko or Lyon or whoever while Teague is still officially the coach..

Tom also reports we have also been talking to former assistant coaches behind Ross Lyon to see if ross would fit in at the Carlton Football Club & that we have been in contact / seeing where Nathan Buckley is at in regards to 2022
Don't worry about Ross former assistants - he has stated numerous times he would go to a club with his own staff - so if it is a question --if Ross will fit into CFC they shouldn't be in a position to hire anyone as CFC has been on the nose for a while I would hope we hire someone who doesn't fit in .. on Nathan Buckley he seems a little toxic for mine like to use reverse gear to back over what he has said and deflects like a Star Wars space shield -- I think he will find it hard to gain trust of group after his collingwood exit --

The excuses we make for this club! Players couldn't hack discipline and having their control taken away, apart from Gibbs who took to it. Malthouse went to a poorly ran club run into the ground, made some mistakes but the club did the rest. I'm sure if Clarkson fails we'll make some poor excuse while the footy department gets off Scott free. Malthouse was a massive scapegoat for the mistakes our board and footy department had been making for years as well as our culture and list quality. It's easier and more satisfying to blame the outgoing old coach than what was really rotten at Carlton.

Trust me, if what needs to come comes, a few won't like it, they will go. I'm hoping it's none but I know better, at least this group is young enough that bad culture won't be fully ingrained, Rattens former list were too far gone, too old to change mostly.

New coach effect is always a thing, it's what got Teague selected. McGovern desperately needs a run of luck.
Do you really believe that about Malthouse? Seriously? I posted it once recently already so I won't again but look up zero hanger nick Graham and listen to the interview. Then, seriously, look at how on earth you could think that about Malthouse and carlton. Yikes.

Whatever he is he is a great player and at his best one of the premier mids in the comp. Nice to see loyalty still has a place in AFL.

Agree, I’m not a huge a sentimentalist but I’m glad he stayed and I reckon they’ll end up winning a flag or two before his time is up as well.

Still a great spread of talent and a strong young core to build around. They’ll still cop academy prospects every odd year too.

One of the best players to watch at his peak.

To be fair Nick Graham also disliked Bolton, who really didn’t want to play him even when he was going well.

It comes with the territory being a career fringe player with severe limitations. You never know if it’s those limitations are affecting your output, or your (poor) output is adding to the perception of those limitations.

Graham being made the sub a record number of times kind of summed it up. He was in purgatory.

I provided some pretty good options there, no? Saad, Doc, Williamson are all best 22, Willo perhaps best 26 but all proven players. LOB is a good player, if he leaves he’ll do well.
Neither Saad or Williamson have shown they can play on a wing for a whole game.

We're not sure Doch will ever return to top flight football at the moment.

Aside from myself, is anyone else here nonplussed if we get Clarkson or not?
Unfortunately I reckon he will replace Teague but if he doesn't Meh AFAIC
I was, but after watching that Dylbucks interview, I’m 110% Get Clarko. He touched on all the things I think are wrong at CFC and showed me insight into how he’d be with our blokes. I’m super impressed. Especially when he spoke about getting the culture right and having a bunch of people around him willing to pursue the same goal. 29:30 to 31:30

1mil a year x 8 years is hardly loyalty. If he did it for 5.6 mil over 8 years you’d have a point.

Dennis Armfield in an interview a few weeks ago, said Malthouse was the best coach he played under
