He did OK in he first quarter against us, also.
Big lad. Actually looks a little too heavy and just a little pudgy.

Not likely as he'll probably be delisted.....but it wouldn't shock me altogether, either.
There are some attributes that could have served him well, playing in the backline.

in it, the other day.. he would have been a similar size, well a few centimetres shorter. I guess there aren't too many players now, that are a little on the pudgy side. Will be interesting to see if he leans down a bit.

BnF has nothing to do with it. If you are not overly glamorous yourself, why would you want to hang around a club with roosters like this on your list.

On Payne, why would he think his chances of game time were any better here than there? Didn't he just play in a prelim? Clearly not far down their pecking order, and whatever you see in him I'm sure they do too.

Fair point and the follow-up was just in response to Arrows post, who claimed that with Daniher coming in, someone may be pushed back.
The other thing is that Brisbane also have Adams coming back, also. Andrews, Adams, Gardiner, McStay, Payne, Ballenden....Lots of talls.

It's just that we may well be looking for a KPD....which one though?

Macreadie is the only one in reserve and he can't stay on the park. Levi is over 30 and our 3rd ruck. Playing Marchbank as a KPD is a concern and he can't stay on the park either.

We definitely need an 18 year old KPD developing in the twos and an experienced, physically developed option for cover. I'd consider Majak Daw

Agree - same with Zerrett and Oliver. Dunkley is the most likely for mine (albeit a 10% chance).

I don't think the club would be looking for a KPD until maybe next trade period...we've hearing a lot about midfielders right now.

Weitering/Jones/Plowman are basically locks...and we know Cas can cover down back if we get an injury.

Yes Marchy's body is unreliable but in a pinch I think the club would back him to cover an injury to the first trio. Some will argue he's not a KPD, but he'll fill the role if required...there was a time the likes of Grimes/Astbury/Broad were seen as 'third tall defenders' but they are getting it done. Not sure what's happening with Macreadie but we've kept him on the list so far after cutting Goddard & BSOS.

Thing is we can't offer anyone like Paine or B McKay regular first team football. KPD is not an area of need right now. Maybe after Cas retires and Jones gets 1 year closer to retirement we might look at one...there is typically one available at another club that can be brought in cheaply.

Club persisting with Macreadie again, I hope that's an indication they think he can play out a full season in 2021. May be that we're happy to give him that year before pulling the trigger on a mature KPD from another club.

Might hedge our bets and draft one late this year.

I think it's a need, but I don't think it's super critical yet. Weiters and Jones starting, Levi as durable depth, McGovern as a potential re-purposed tall, Marchy and Macreadie just needing to stay fit, JSOS as a left-field option.

Lots of "maybes" there, but we don't need them all, just one or two for now.

That's plenty for now even if JSOS leaves. Club seems to be prioritising another midfielder from what we've heard.

Yep! 2 years including one under Covid restrictions with only scratch matches for reserves ... for a young KPD, it's just ridiculous. They may claim he was never any good but there were some decent signs and some decent reports coming from the coach.

Someone at the club wanted him gone and removed SOS because of his COI a year earlier so it would easier to cut him, OR removed him because of SOS. The question marks over Jack make it even more suspicious.
