As per the Bluemour File OP, this is a thread for discussing Carlton related rumours.
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/bluemour-file.1085141/

Rumour posters should post their rumours in both threads for those that like just to read rumours and for those that like to have get lost in their rumour files.

Remember ... #Bluemour

Would people accept 8 for Saad + future 2nd?

I’d rather picks in next years draft which from all reports will be stacked. That pick will likely be anywhere from picks 19-22 imo
Still think the best approach is to trade further back in the first round ASAP. Put it back on Essendon to accept a mid to late first round for him.

Getting Saad through the door and another (albeit later) first round pick and being able to put 12 months development into said pick is better than stockpiling an extra second round pick next year IMO

You'd think so but if ESS are offering 7 for the same deal we offer 8 it's hard for them to proceed.

Why? I could understand if they are getting the pick themselves, but they'll be giving it away for Jeremy Cameron. So, pick 7 or 8 has the same value for Geelong.

Damn, that's some f’ed up culture at the Pies. Gotta feel sorry for Treloar.

Poor Adam Treloar. Never been a fan of him as a player, but **** he must be feeling so low righr now, can't help but worry about his mental/emotional state, especially given his battles with Anxiety (a horrible condition I know all too well 🤕🤕)

The day we start treating our players like this is hopefully a day I will never see..

Shame on you Collingwood 👎👎👎

Why would it matter if Essendon trump us and trade their pick with Geelong for two firsts? We just ask for one of those pick as the 'steak knives' for pick 8.
It works out as the same deal as if we had split the pick ourselves.

Correct. Plenty of options. Just need someone to stand tall to Dodo & *.

Let me give you the tip.....If we somehow miss Saad, and he ends up in the draft or stuck at Essendon after he has publicly come out, backed us, and said I want Carlton, then good luck getting anyone to nominate us going forward.

2 years in a row of humiliating players
Nope.

Suns humiliated themselves by refusing to entertain a trade with the publicly expressed wish to send a message to the rest of their playing group. Given they had lost both captains the previous season, there is some sympathy for them wanting to do anything to stem the bleeding, time will tell if the sacrifice was worth it.

No one in the AFL would believe Saad is worth pick 8, let alone that plus extras ... except * who are also trying to stop bleeding players. If * won’t be reasonable, and they have a long history of being objectionable, then it won’t be hard to make it public what they requested.

If Saad and his management are smart they won’t want his new club bankrupting their chances of success to satisfy unreasonable demands from his current club who have publicly declared him a troublemaker. They will work with us to ensure either * make a reasonable offer or he tries to get to us another way.

Not sure how two desperate clubs being publicly unreasonable reflects on us at all. Particularly as we have managed to get plenty of other deals done in the last 5 seasons.

I 'd like us to take him if Pies paid most of his salary.

Love to find out who leaked that!

What's sad the Pies have not made a quote for that past week to at lease quash the Trealor and Stephenson talk which you have to deduce fully indicates their is a semblance of truth to it. Their credibility is shot and if they seriously think they're premiership material they're deluded.

The Daniher compensation was consistent with the contract he has received. This wasn’t a generous move by AFL house, but a generous decision made by Brisbane to find a way they could get Daniher without trading. Big risk taken by them.
Just challenging to reconcile a 3 year deal being "Band 1" and a 5 year deal for Crouch only being "Band 3"

Yep. Let's not be overly dramatic.
Saad knows we want him. Plus it was his manager who said they are prepared to walk if no deal can be struck.

papley

But despite trying to make him feel unwanted, he still wants to be there? He is a masochist?

Holding them to his long lucrative contract I would think, he wont get the same $$$ anywhere else now.

Why not just go to the Dogs, swap their 14 for our 2nd rounder (29) and future second rounder, depending how we finish next year it's either a break even for the Dogs or a slight benefit.
For the same reason the Martin deal fell over last year. Many on here put far to much thought into the points structure. There is no benefit for the dogs to gain a future second and lose points this year. A separate deal could be struck with the dogs for pick 14, but would rely on us giving two second rounders this year, so they are up on points.
Unless you have the academy/father sons to take, the point system is irrelevant.

Dogs want to trade that 14 as they're planning on bids for their academy player ranked #1. For them to get some points to use this year on him and have a decent round 2 pick in next years better draft is a win win for them.
